Are following two not comparable?
1) Maoists training and brain-washing children and innocent people
2) Taliban doing the same in Afgan and Pak.

corruption
by Panthera Leo on Feb 07, 2011 05:43 PM  | Hide replies

I had 10 day trip to these areas. Local people seem to be happy with the Maoists aka Robin hood. The Police are very corrupt , collecting bribe from every vehicle (@100 per tourist). Blown up Police stations are everywhere and people happily show them off. They say because of Maoists they have less trouble with the police now than in the past. And missionaries played a major role in educating them. Will there ever be inclusive development in India?

Are they happy? When Maoists explode bombs, only these people are killed. How can people be happy?
Bomb explosions are everyday affair.

Catch the leaders and clear them ....Give more facility and development to affected areas ...situation become normal within 2-3 years ... Naxals are exact like Christian missionaries. They want to keep poverty everywhere to sell there ideology

You know that the problem is? People happily and readily point to problems with others BUT couldn't find even one small fault with themselves while there are tons of them.

Firstly, Govt should correct its mistakes. Police and Forest officials have abused tribals for decades. Naxal problem is only for last 15 years but police abuse is going on for last 60 years. First that should stop and all corrupt and bad policemen should be punished for abusing tribals. Only then Tribals will start believing in police and government. Until then, they will be happy with current set up. People should oppose the corrupt government machinery before eliminating naxals.

Failure of Democracy In India
by Tiger Eslam on Feb 07, 2011 04:46 PM  | Hide replies

You accept or not but democracy has failed in India. Many areas revolt has happened against Govt of India, People have to take up guns in their hands to defend their rights. Corrupt Politican and offical are contributor for democracy failure. Govt offical rapes village girls and kills parents under the name of law and order to fullfil democracy requirements.

Samilar girls in mentioned state take guns for justice. When Indian citizen are not safe in their own country why to fall other rules and regulations. Every such incidents of rape and killing will give birth to Moaist or naxal.....who knows how defend themself....Govt officers also knows that they can t protect other indian citizens who visit naxal hits areas....and so they issue warning notice ...not travel after evening.

Democracy has not failed. The very fact that you have the previlege of sitting in front of your computer to write against democracy is a triumph of democracy. No doubt we need to improve it but I refuse to believe that democracy in India has failed.

Democracy in India exists only for the rich and powerful. We can say we are a true democratic country only when the poorest of the poor could get justice within the system. Have you read Times of India today? How the poor people in Chattisgarh are driven out of their land to favour few private companies? The poor people are helpless driven against a wall of apathy, injustice and criminal negligence of the govt, judiciary and majority of the media. Now tell me whether democracy has succeeded for all sections of people in India?

Send all the IIM's graduates to these villiages. I am sure all would fail to appeal the mass and then the true value of Management education would evolve.
