... meerut, allahabad, patna can never make any business sense - unless crime and ter roar are considered business. cities like mumbai, kolkata, chennai and even bengaluru, hyderabad and pune are dying cities - without any reasonable infrastructure expansion and high cost of living. it could be also one of the reasons that these cities are largely conservative and there are political groups that attack migrants believing that they are a drain on city's dwindling resources. fortunately, delhi, being the political capital, gets the attention of policy-makers and things have not yet come to a passe there. but it suffers from high crime rates and lack of civic sense among its people. looking at Indian cities, there seems to be a feeling that our future is dark and insecure.

Then why dont the migrants stay in their places instead of moving to the "dying cities". That unveils the truth.
Barring a very few all cities of India are listed. These are fairly ok places to live. I see 3 cities from Kerala, 3 1 from TN, 3 from Gujarat, 3 from MH, 3 from Andhra, 2 from Punjab, 2 from Karnataka (dont know why Mangalore wasn\'t included). This way seemingly south and west are doing good.
