Worse than Infotech (IT Company) ???
Young gals lost their health working even during weekends.
Forget Saturdays, even on Sundays they are asked to work. Slavery !!
Gals from small size towns are offered jobs in cities like Hyderabad, then starts the torture.. their menstrual cycles disturbed and health took a hit.
TCS is not providing Home load or auto loan. It was removed some where around 2005. It seems writer is not updated and is referring to old information.
Paid maternity leave and paid annual leave and paid day off are not perks they are government by laws of the west which the companies have to comply with. So is PPP (personal protective equipment) and all health and safety related equipment be it in ta factory or office must be supplied by the company at no cost to the employee, such as if one is suffering from back pains then a a special ergonomic chair and a right height desk must be provided to the employee, that is the law and not a perk. Yes most of others are perks like Airlines giving their employees a free flights to any where in the world and free for life after a certain period of employment, public transport is the same. Free or subsidised meals, Travel expenses etc are at companies discretion.

Please don't compare our Indian IT and BPO companies with any one of the above facts. They mention all the good factors are present in their organization just to attract good candidates and also to get a good name in the market. In actuality, every Indian IT and BPO company know what they in reality offer to their employees.

Sheetal, not really, in most companies in the USthe dad will get one day off for the birth of his child. Mom will get mat leave but will be paid Mostlyto the extent vacation and sick leave is accrued by the employee. So if a woman has 10 days of vacant acrrued, she can have two weeks of paid leave and after that if she wants to take more leave she can do so on her dime. The bylaws state that the employer must hold her job for up to 12 weeks and give it back to her upon return within that time.
AC Gym with trainer (open only in mornings and evenings); discounts at Croma, Westside, Barista, etc; vacation homes at holiday resorts, free for entire family; complete reimbursement of certification and higher education fees; complete health insurance, including dental; free snacks in night shift; home, car and personal loans; interest free loan for housing deposit; etc. Free meals in the only desirable facility left wanted

The biggest PERK that TCS provides is that it goes and offers jobs to anybody and everybody. They recurit in bus-load from any tom, dic harry campus...this indeed is a perk
