These rating agencies rated thousands of mortgage backed securities as AAA, out of which 90% are junk today. This started 2007 financial crisis now are entering 2nd phase of it.
Everyone is a scamster in todays financial world....
No credit rating agency has the resources or ability to rate a nation like the USA it is simply too complex. This is purely an exercise for publicity and these people should be severely punished.

How do you know the S&P has incorrectly downgraded the US?
For a country waging continuous wars on many fronts (and still trying to start new wars) and has huge expenses for its homeland security for an indefinite period, this downgrading was bound to happen.
And Obama does not have magic wand to improve the econmic slide.
This is the beginning of the end of US as an economic powerhouse!
