aware of the fact that the 20 years of alleged 'economic reforms' in India has really not made any significant section of Indians rich enough to buy their products !
i think it is the signal of developing, it is not to give a bad effect on retail domestic investment as both will be going up parallel at the retail markets to control inflation rate but the government should have to take such a policy to welcome mixed economies into the retail markets, otherwise if there will be dependable on one matter any time its demand elasticity could be in decrease and therefore the markets get down turn, so there must be a liberty for all type of income levels of customers to enter the markets , then it is to be the significance of mixed economy , otherwise not.
It is hard to believe foreign retailers are not interested in India esp. given some big names got into cash and carry low margin business. The only reason why I see these big guys deferring plans is an unstable commission mongering Govt. in power. Now that the world knows that Govt. of India needs to be well fed all the time, no one is willing to take the risk. They are waiting for more business friendly BJP to come to power
india needs back end supply chain storage solutions and there is profits to be made
If British or Americans think ,,they cannot make money then India will make itself locally or source from French who may be willing to provide such solutions
Front end retail also takes time - to sell to indians in rupees and then convert to dollars it will take years
But backend systems are trunkey and India will make payments ,,the recovery is swift and wuick compared to the front end
If Americans or British think it is not no dramas just step aside we are not afraid of your bullying or targeting Indians on student visas or work visas we will bear the pain we already are bulllied so nothing new
