A look at the most of Indian roads makes one feel that we indians do not want to follow traffic rules,we are too egoistic, even the traffic police are often seen breaking rules that they are supposed to enforce. In comparison contries like srilanka,Malasia,Thailand have better traffic rule complaince tahn Indai, not to mention about US,Europe,China.

Indian roads are better than those of China and the US. Travel from Delhi to Agra and realize that.

Quality of road is not the only thing that matters. What also matters is the quality of road users, adherence to rules and regulation and emergency services. We might lay the best roads but they dont serve the purpose when they are not used properly.

100% agree , people have no traffic sence & do not want to obey traffic rules. One who tries to do so will be considered as a fool. Peopla fee pleaseure in breaking signals , driving in the wrong side /wrong lanes , wrongly overtaking , overloading of passengers, spitting during driving , all these have become very common & part of life. It is the people who can improve culture , nothing to blame to Govt.

Over a lakh people perish in road accidents every year. That would work out to close to 300 people per day. That is double the number of people killed in the Mumbai attack.
We need to improve the quality of drivers before we do anything.
