kidly find out how much electric energy is consumed during each IPL match including power spent on flood lights in stadiums and about at least 100000000 TV sets kept on during 4.5 HRS of match period in India alone. The estinate is nearly 50000 MW of power consumed during 4.5 Hrs. Then work out net impact on environment & other asociated non productrive activities. Just a thought!

People will never stop watching. It it is not IPL then some mega-serial will take over. Or else some breaking news will keep ppl glued to TV sets. If nothing is there, then they will sit in front of comp just as you and I are doing. But all these sponsors are adding this cost to their products and hence inflation will be even higher. Next time you purchase a product it will pinch you harder.

yup, but dhyan chand only won 3 gold where as the remaining 5 were won by others....it is foolish to compare things like this...what we can do is instead going overboard with cricket put some more focus on hockey which is by the way the national sport of india...
