The cause for rising food prices and lack of it could be attributed to farming lands turning to concrete buildings especially in india. The land of farmers is becoming the Land of Builders and Contractors. If we go at this pace, we will be depending on importing food from other countries to feed 121 crore population.

Over population is the MAIN cause of food crisis. In cities alone, if ALL slum and pavement dwellers are sterilised, this will solve the problem of them breeding like dogs and cats. Same should be done in villages too.

I completely agree with you. Unless govt. stops the sale of farm lands for industrial and real estate purpose, we will have no cultivalbe land in few years. We also should stop buying plots/apartments constructed on farm lands.
