People are producing children and demanding roads from Govt. For India's population, no traffic rule is needed. Only rule for not producing children is needed.
For all the talk, Administrators or Administrations in India plan for neither the People nor the Roads. For all the advice and well documented reports by the "High Level Committees"...the implementation results in "Potholed" roads because Administrations are busy planning how to corrupt the system even more. The Planning itself is Potholed.
The Author's view is very correct. But, where he has erred is in the assumption that Urban development was ever meant for the people. After decades of spurious and small spending, the people in power and the deciding authorities have now hit a jackpot. They have started taking up huge projects - necessary or otherwise. The idea of why this is done is for all to guess.
Let a study be conducted on land holdings prior to conception of the huge projects and post. The strategy will become very very clear.
If the Govt is serious on development, then, the ideal thing to do would be to spread the Development to tier 2 and tier 3 cities. This would mean lower spending for investors and development would also get automatically extended to these cities as well. The people in these cities will get the benefit of better roads, schools, hospitals etc. The other benefit would be that the influx of people into cities and over cramping would reduce. It is anybody's guess why such plans are not thought of.
No matter how many wide roads we have, there will be traffic jams in India. It has to do with the Indian psyche. We do not follow rules at home (but we are very happy to abide by the rules when we go abroad). We hate to wait in line. We jump signals. We all want to live in cities. Former president Mr.Abdul Kalam's PURA (Providing Urban Amenities in Rural Areas) seems to be a plausible solution. This can prevent the migration of people from villages to cities. Another solution is to undertake planned development of townships in cities with all the required infrastructure in place. Haphazard development of apartment complexes and shopping malls by real estate tycoons are making the situation more chaotic. The State Government and local bodies of administration must take control of planned development, rather than leaving it to individuals and realtors.

1. You were fired by Wipro and now jobless. 2. Your girlfriend got fed up with your peanut brains and attitude, so she dumped you for a 'Malbari'.
Dude, you are talking about a company with market cap of 110,000 crores. If you had ever run a business, you would understand that you wont make even make 0.01% of that unless you have some ethics and quality control.
Investors have seen the companies growth in last 20 years or so, your bullshit on the company is having no effect. In fact you will have no idea, but higher promotor holding is a positive for any company. If Premji is expecting bad future, he would have diluted his stake and made money!
You obviously have no idea about share market and you are not fit to work there. Now please keep your mouth shut.

Fremji's Vipro is like Municipality, they have only Testing projects & Netwrongking projects, in the history so far they delivered Billions of Failed Projects in the GULF countries alone.
Wipro is king of delivering failed projects to Gulf Countries.
In wipro its legal to deliver failed Projects & bill to Customer.
Fremji is getting Projects by spy Gulf Countries for Iran.
