When Nehra dropped a catch in the semi-finals Dhoni did not admonish him but asked to let go. This motivated Nehra whose performance was outstanding.
When Sreesanth failed in one match, Dhoni had very bad remarks for him in the press room and this destroyed Sreesanth's confidence.
This is not good captaincy. You have to give equal treatment to every one.

But then, there is difference between lack of skill and lack of discipline. Isn't it?

Everyone knows that Nehra's limitations as a fielder and he was selected into the squad with those limitations. When he dropped, there was a genuine attempt from Nehra. That is what Dhoni acknowledged. As a youngster Sreesanth acts out of immaturity and it does not require any analytical skills to say that, if Sreesanth continues this way, he will be following Vinod Kambli's path and I am sure, Dhoni's remarks in press conference were not about the performance, they were about attitude. I personally believe, Sree should get this nonsense out of his way and let his bowling do all the speaking. I am sure Dhoni also prefers it that way.

In india we have lived in king size relegion. always looking for hero worship. and every body is dreaming to be a hero. Truth is biggest need for india is to be a true and dedicated TEAM member. one who is not dreaming to be boss and worshiped. but one cloge in a wheel who can didicate. sacrifice siletnly for the better result. The main success mantra of west has been this. even chinees understand the power of this. Its like jesus sacrificing himself better world, not caring about hero worship. thats attitude most wanted in india. a strong powerful team in each and every field. govt. building and maintaing infrastructure, school. everywhere. if we can only understand the power of this attitude. we can make our home ie India a better place to live. Else keep comparing dhoni and MMS.

Dear Rediff - yes DHoni is a great captain who understands cricket. The country's leadership must be an experienced politician who understands politics and administration well. The only thing I can agree is the coolness factor, apart from that politics and governance is a far more complex story than cricket.

Dhoni as a leader definitely played a significant role in the victory of India especially as he played from the front and lead India to victory. Whereas our PM is sitting not knowing anything which is happening under him. How can a tainted man becomes the head of the vigilance? How can Raja bring mammoth loss to Indian exchequer and then again be given the same portfolio, again and again? How can kalmadi and gang loot so much? How can it all happen under his nose, in his Delhi neighborhood??? Our PM has to monitor what his ministers and colleagues are doing be strict and punish the culprits. If Dhoni is praised for India's victory, then PM will have to take the responsibility for the total disarray of governance.

Why to waste time on Sonia and MMS, one is holding position due to marriage, anyone who had married Rajiv would have been the unaccountable queen today, the other is innocent looking slimy guy, who holds the position as a mask.

Dont discount the contribution of every cricketer. We love Dhoni!!! We love all India players. Do we have a good leader like Dhoni in power? Do we have good ministers like our successful cricketers?

As Dhoni can take his own decisions and not to ask for anything before doing to his coach. But for the MMS it is different play ground. he has to ask before taking any decision to the super boss.

Here the leader stays cool like Dhoni..This is not cricket to stay cool.There is another match, another world cup.We need the PM to punish his ministers who gave India the biggest corruption scandal! Be tough and not weak!

What next, management lessons from beggar? All these guys are jokers, finding lessons everywhere

Mahendra singh dhoni has a good team with efficient players...while Manmohan Singh has highly corrupt team with inefficient and tainted players...You cannot compare the two captains...otherwise Manmohan Singh as an economist management Guru on any Day is 100 times more efficient than Dhoni...!!!

Comparison is perfectly possible. Both are in a position of leadership. Their situations may be different, but the basic principles of leadership are always the same. How you apply them in individual cases is what matters
