This is a great news and very good step by India.... my only concern is that NIC should be inclusive and focus on some real economy sectors and not fall prey to "new" technology in IT and Telecom only... we have enough of innovation - and enough of other funders/sponsors - in these "service" sectors and focus is needed in those sectors which would need these IT and telecom services... focus should be on mass utlity sectors like innovation in improving efficiency in power, water, sewerage, education, housing, medical facilities, grain storage, public distribution systems, manufacturing of essential items (and not in potato chips and cola drinks) etc. ... Can Sam Pitroda come out of his Telecom/ chip mindset to focus on these... I have my doubts. Dr. Mashelkar and others like him should be invited to join at the apex level of NIC
