It is a sad state of affairs. Our planning is done for promoting exports. The planners forget about the people here. We should not follow the slogan “export or perish”. Follow the slogan "produce for consumption". Production for export leads to slavery. It was the practice encouraged during colo periods. In those periods we produced for others to consume. And we consumed the products of others. In the end Indians were the loosers. We should not give much importance for export. We can develop our muscle by producing quality goods at competitive unit cost. Foreign countries will sure be attracted. Insulating our country from the rampage in another country depends on our planning. India should not be aligned to be dragged on the wishes of other countries.
SEZ act has several clauses which can be used for colonization.
Policy paper was finalized in 2004.
This act was passed in the parliament without serious debate. Just two days. 10th and 11th May 2005.
Lot of fertile land will be acquired for SEZ-by force.
Landless and Agricultural labourers will be displaced without compensation.
Destruction of land-based economy
Labour laws of India not applicable to SEZ.
Revenue Losses due to unnecessary tax concessions: estimated Rs 1,75,487 crores for the first ten years
