Diesel price - Deregulation...!!!!!!!
by ramamani sadasivan on Nov 02, 2010 11:27 AM

while it is true that Intl. Crude prices have risen from abt USD 75 to USD 82-82...it should not be forgotten that Indian rupees has firmed up from abt USD 50/- to Rs. 44 per Dollar...
The TRUTH is that it is " convenient " to hike the Petro; price than " touch " Diesel " price..
AND the Oil Marketing companies are getting away with the price revision...!!!!

The Govt needs to earn money to fill their pockets not the treasury. The numerous taxes on imports results in the high cost of fuel. Note - Majority of the the petrol pumps are owned by politicians or their relatives - So again a source of income - This is is a very huge and powerful lobby - Headed by politicians from all parties. If the govt does not tax imports on fuel and additives the cost of petrol should be in the range of 30 to 40 INR. A third world country that is considered to be very poor - Sells Petrol at 20 INR - and that too is expensive for them. So why this situation in India.
