Apple certainly has an edge when it come to technology as wel as hyper-marketing, the heat of a new and to-be launch is what sells it.
Anyways, mez not a Apple fan anymore esp after their move of bridging Arunachal Pradesh as a Chinese territory in its built-in map of iPhone 4, of course on request of the chinese authority.
Disappointing is our government is sleeping over it...

apple hardware is overpriced. repairs cost a bomb. you can buy a better laptop for half the price, but with an ordinary looking form factor.
for example you can buy a dell inspiron for 42k - 15.6 screen, 500gb hdd, phenom quad core 930N, 4gb ram ddr3, radeon 550v gfx card 1gbram. that kicks some serious ass, especially of apple.
Even at Price of 1600$, the Processor is Obsolete with Core 2 Duo. This is really ridiculous to buy a laptop for 72000 Rupees with outdated Pros like C2D in the era of i7 Processor. Apple is trying to loot us in this price with just glossy features like LED lit screen. Computers are made what they contains Internally not how it looks. Secondly, upgrading the Flash memory will cost so much higher as compared to HDD which are available at Rs 4000 for 1 TB

Dear Sammer Shahi, Apple products are not meant for India, I think it will take 20 years for India to come on Apples radar. These are premium products and apple charges for them because no other is visionary like them. Its not about the C2D or Hdd. Its all about the overall experience.

exprience of apple? I am still not happy with too less buttons and menu of ipod. Possibly topo much of style kills the core value of such products. Apple is the perfect example

apple mac air starting at 999$ 11" and specs are good.. at this ultra thin piece dnt expect much configuration.. i hv HP pavilion with high config bt 3KG feels heavy to carry around. anyways m def gonna buy this one.. 11" wala lappy is good for me..

Hi Sameer Shahi, Basically I too had same opinion until I see the demsonstration recently. Even with the core2Duo the performance is incredible no way comparable with even the latest so called i7 in Dell, Toshiba or any other brands. My advice.. pls go and see the demo somewhere then decide whether it is worthy or not....!

Hi., First u go work with a Apple a Mac based out of C2D Processor and compare its performance with that of Latest Core i5 based XYZ laptop brand. You will feel the difference and find the answer y peoples are mad to own a MAC !! even for 1 Lakhs

But the question remains why apple does not provide the latest chips on their latest machines even when they charge a premium.

The problem with i5 or i7 is that they consime too much power. If a C2D based laptopcan give 7 hr backup, i5 or i7 will at max give 3 hrs, which for a laptop isn't good enough.

As much as I have heard C2D for Macs are specially designed for Apple and the complete hardware in macs are in such a synergy that they perform at their best. So even with C2D they are better then latest i5-i7. And the reason that apple is not giving i7 is becos they have to re-engineer the complete hardware which will take time.
