Very true until you find out that you was listing to music and the battery has run down, now you can't make a call or receive a call until it is recharged and the charger is at home. IT DEFEATS THE IDEA OF HAVING A PHONE AND BE IN CONTACT ALL THE TIME DOESN'T IT.
I think the real pmp which gives Ipod run for money is the COWON. Check out Cowon J3 & X7. One more thing, when it comes to audio quality, no player can even touch the feet of Cowon. Poor rediff...

if you blast your ears in full volume, its obvious u will become deaf. The volume has to be in its limits.
The article has come out late. The rival mp3 players have been in existence since ipod itself. I have been using one and have never bought an ipod because 1) ipod is costlier 2) You need a software to transfer songs, whereas with an mp3 player, you can simply copy paste

Phones dont have the same sound engines a mp3 player carries. So anyday, dedicated devices like video players, mp3 players are better than the phone counterparts. I do have a Sony Walkman, and nothing on earth (including ipod I have) has beat its sound reproduction.
