One needs to be practical.
by chanakya maurya on Nov 18, 2010 12:37 PM

Not a Ratan Tata.

Whoever branded him bewaqoof and recommended the payment of 15 crores to the minister is a very very practical person.

When in a jungle you have to follow the rules of that jungle.

You pay slightly more for your project for that extra mile.

Corruption, and it has many forms and formulations, is an indispensable component of what they call progress.

A progress without corruption in any society is just not possible even theoretically.

Power always needs to be heavily compensated even for a small smile on the face.

Vulgar wealth display yes but R&D and philanthropy no
by Das on Nov 18, 2010 12:58 AM  | Hide replies

Indian corporate billionaires have become rich by getting India’s scare resources by paying well below the actual market price, due to corrupt nexus with politicians and bureaucrats, for scarce resources like land, spectrum, licence to mine and drill for range of commodities. In the West, Japan, and East Asian nations, a lot of wealth and employment is generated for their nation by the rich people by investing in R&D. This high risk and high return investment in R&D is vital for becoming self-sufficient and avoid perpetual imports, which essentially exports jobs. Unfortunately, Indian billionaires stand out for being singularly least philanthropic, spending little or nothing on indigenous R&D, but yet have outdone every other billionaire in grotesque and vulgar display of their ill-gotten wealth.

by Rajendra Gupta on Nov 18, 2010 12:14 AM

How Dhirubhai and later Mukesh grew is known to every one in business circles.Globlaisation is biggest fradu enacted by capitalist coutnries to milk poor economies and convrege wealth towards USA lobby countries.IN my view India is heading for serious civil disturbnaces, poverty, pollution and almost zero law and order.A few more people like amabanis would emerge.

Earn billions illegally or immorally.
Pay 30% as Tax to Govt
Pay 20% as Party Fund to Congress or BJP.
You will become a Ambani of India.

In India's dummy democracy, Govt will also give you 4 gunmen so that you can continue your shady activities.
