involvement of politics..by Prabhakar
by prabhakar nahak on Jul 31, 2010 11:28 PM  | Hide replies

there is no doubt that if posco or vedanta or reliance or anybody setup their plants in their respective regions than they will definitely create jobs and opportunities their........But the thing that we must notice is that, does this really gonna help them? Somewhere peoples battling for their cultural heritage ,somewhere for their lands which is more than mother for them. Is this really gonna make them happier? not at all.........
The true development of a country happens when the development truly makes the people happy, not to think for to battle for their land or culture ...So everything is meaningless if we don't keep these things in our mind before development...

An economy wants major income from sources other than agriculture but then this is not he way to do it. Farmers are paid peanuts for the land which is their livelihood under the pretext of development. I am all for development but not at the cost of life of the poor.

This article is typical communist propaganda. They have tried this with Narendra Modi before, and have miserably failed.

wonder why rediff auto blocks messages with the word 'marx ism' written. Seems they don't tolerate criticism of this great ideology.

before rejecting an article...have a look at the flawed land acquisition policies of this country...if the govt was out to get your land and gave u pennies for it...u would want to give them hell too? rite?think about it...and read up on the land acquisition act 1984...have an informed opinion at least

Myth about agri land
by bevarsi soolemaga on Jun 13, 2010 10:40 AM  | Hide replies

There is no shortage of agricultural land. There is 24 crore acres of land under agriculture.
A few lakh acres given For SEZ wont make any difference.

Why you need agricultural land for SEZs? Why dont you go to arrid lands. The industrialists need fertile lands close to sea, river or capital cities and the govt takes over the land on govt rate which is much much low than the market price. So they refuse to part with. Then govt applies force, politicians come into the support of the poor farmers. This is very very bad. Ther is lot of infertile lands in every state there only these sezs ,industries to be constructed.
