So much of negativity
by Darshan on May 12, 2010 06:19 PM  | Hide replies

Well Nahoria deserves to be credited for his acheivements and whole of India should be proud of him. The article just focuses on IIT since his initial education was there. So basically story angle is to be blamed. See how peole here IITans v/s Non IITians are fighting on this forum..can't we Indian's appreciate something good in one voice ? Well Nahoria has not done any thing significant for India as asked by some people here but who knows, he may do some thing in future like say opening up a center in India or close collaboration with Indian management institutes by structuring wonderful exchange programs. So lets wait and watch and appreciate his achievement.

What has IIT got to do with this????
by genius black on May 11, 2010 11:16 PM

Yet another case of blind adoration for IIT's! IIT had NOTHING to do with Nohria's appointment. Its not like he was made dean of MIT. This guy got a PhD in BUSINESS, worked as a Professor in a BUSINESS school and was appointed its dean. Plain and simple.

Stop taking credit where its not deserved. Yuck!

Exactly. Nothing. Prof Nohria was selected because he was the ONLY professor who focused on ethics. HBS has taken a huge hit on this front and this is their pathetic attempt to rectify it. Lets not get carried away with jingoism.

the hue and cry people making all of the IIT graduates should be placed in some very high positions. Barely 1% actually make mark. All of the 100% Indian nobel laureates are NON IITians.

People enter IIT with tailor made trainings, its not real brain. Sooner one realises better.

Well said. This is just another case of BLIND ADORATION for IIT's. How can they take credit for something in which they have zero input?

FOR all the NO-BRAINERs who just leave no opportunity to malign the IIT name, there is diffreence between engineers and scientists , so nobel prize doesnt come into equation.

barely 1% get into IIT's suggests that its not merely "kota' training , but requires significant intelligence . the sooner a looser like you realises this, the better it is for you.

Guys, IIT'ans are just proud of that he is being from their "institution". You can't be mean to them to feel proud of it, don't you feel proud some one in your family makes it big. It's just as simple as that.

Nohria's appointment as HBS dean
by cxc xcc on May 11, 2010 10:29 PM  | Hide replies

Is not it a matter of shame that an engineer from IIT becomes head of an institute better known for management? Why IITans are proud for a
management guru who has done nothing for the engineering !
