BSNL has large CSC offices staffed by old timers which is just waste of money in modern time.
BSNL people have whole system computerized so they could have opted for more efficient customer offices in less space.
They still insist that customer need to write application for any thing be it bill plan change or any other service instead of listening to customer and entering the complaint in the CSR system
The web sites of BSNL are badely designed and totally unprofessional
This investement will be a total waste for sure unless the telecom dept. come out with a shrewd strategy like their 3G service being reserved only for BSNL, thereby enabling it to have the upper hand from the rest of it's competitors. I used BSNL in Kolkata for 4 yrs and have had many bad experience with it. SInce it commencement the network was weak, u still have to call a person twice as the line would get disconnected mid way. I had to wait for 1 1/2 yrs to get a damn GPRS connection to my phone. And everutime u called their hotline u would have to wait from 10 min for someone to pick up. They dont hear u well when u speak in english, when u speak in ur mother tongue they ll ask u the same qstns over and over again and ultimately hand u over to their engineers who would never call back. U even need to wait in the queue for hours to submit docs or apply for a new connection. They have redefined Disgusting Service.
i had BSNL postpaid for 2 years while in Kolkata and while the service conditions were always poor and nonexistent, the bills were inflated and astounding. We code named B - Bhai S - Sahab N - Nahin L - Lagte.
My advice to anyone is to be connected to BSNL only if he is ready to suffer, else gift it to your best enemy. I am sure he would make amendments.
How BSNL can make profit, when they knowingly deteriorating their stand. Even after having sufficient infrastructure and space allocation. Bsnl mobiles are not getting networking, compared to others(private). Why BSNL can not offer bet networking facility and increase their fleet. No, BSNL ministers and top management ppl wants BSNL to come down and fill their pocket for their own interest.
If BSNL provide better service (networking) BNSL can have good business and make good profit to the company and the individuals.

Most of the people would complain about the coverage of BSNL. I heard guys from remote area are telling, even BSNL is having two towers around them, the private operator is givng good signal using one tower. The reason is they are transmitting with high power exceeding the limits allowed. I think it si 15Watt. But most of the private operators are radiating with around 40W to get good coverage. with 15W, the radiation wont affect much. But with 40W, nobody knows. Guys living near the private towers may affect by its radiation and have back ache and other ailments due to high power radiation. As a Govt company BSNL cant radiate. Regarding billing, every one knows BSNL is the best even those complaining with its coverage and procedures. U take data , analyse and decide..dont take anyone words as truth

Hey De tvl, how much money has BSNL given u to talk good about it. Radiation and back aches...ha...it seems u belong to the stone age dude. Best u stay outta this forum and join BSNL as a chaprasi.
Sad to write this. But, they just don't understand the customer. Their customer are no longer un-educated and don't have other options.. I was one of their distressed broadband customers wondering why it disconnects often..I kept complaining to them. No solution, except few poor response... I am sure many will agree with me.

In BSNL u r having good redressal mechanism..u can complain with BSNL state head..or even to CMD through one email with full facts and figures. In Broadband, ur system also plays vital role in speed and connectivity
Telecom is a customer service business. Every company has the same technology, but the one with better service will win. Govt has never been good at customer service and so has no business in being in telecom. They should sell off BSNL and use that money to develop physical infrastructure.
after IT minsiter raja done scam of more then 10,000 crores with the help of beloved primeminister as our elite people says( raja IT minister says all agreement are approved by manmohan singh.so if raja done corruption then mammohan singh also involved in corruption.
after this scam happened, saivate karunanidhi directly controlled IT ministry and now he made BSNL to more profit more then any private telecom operator
Read the article that appeared in Times of India a couple of days ago.
This is a paid article in response to that which exposed the real picture of BSNL. Its losses are more than INR 3000 Cr and its management is in shambles.
Extremely bloated and inefficient staff, poor service, huge NPAs etc etc are eating this company from inside.
I dare say this is another Air India in the making.

Worst customer service. Recently my cousinwent to apply for new connection at Bangalore Customer Service Centre. When he asked for a pen to fill teh application form, the concerned staff shouted at him for not carrying a pen. That office is meant for "customer Service Centre "
