Bad
by manu abe on Mar 12, 2010 04:23 PM  | Hide replies

This Inflation is bad as what media is covering.Everybody is telling about salaried people. But what about lower class(Ecnomically)who dont have any permenent job. They are not a collective force hence just begging in front of provision shop for credit to pull his /her family. It is very pathetic to see that govt shows any positive steps to prevent the same.Insted they open their windos for the industrilist without ant restrictions

Salary hike.
by SAM sam on Mar 12, 2010 04:04 PM  | Hide replies

Every one's salary got an increment of 8% to 15%(as per some early news in rediff itself). But if check in the market the vegetables and other raw materials the increase in money is more than 50% to 200%. How a normal working class man can manage his house because of this inflation. God only knows.

Not every ones salary got increased by 8 to 15%. There are still many who are not employed. The recent recession gave an excuse to most employers to down size and cut costs.

High Population
by greatguy on Mar 12, 2010 03:54 PM

It is all about high population. In China many eat lizards, Cockraoches, snakes, fishes so you dont see much inflation even with such high population.

SPECIFIC
by madanmohan siddhanthi on Mar 12, 2010 03:53 PM

The Givernment is non specific nebulous entity. When we talk we should be able to identify the ministry /individuals and pin the responsibility .Unfortunately we take shelter calling the government responsible.
Before Elections the middle men were told they can raise the prices to any level - but they must pay so much (AP) .Similarly some one promises FSI increase and collects crores (Navi Mumbai).Similarly even today the middlemen make tons and hsare with politicians - no one wants to get into this.In hyderabad Mr.Naidu tried RAitu Bazzar (Farmers Market) which was methodically and systematically killed by middlemen and dogs they feed.

Why not the government take initiative to bring back the money stashed in swiss banks to meet fiscal deficit rather than raising the burdens on fellow citizens.

The income tax structure is total brain wash. 10% till 5 lac, what about ppl who are still under the 3 lac slab as last year they did not get any reduction on their tax liability. Ppl under 3 lac slab would have to pay the same income tax as last year and shell out extra money for petrol & diesel and for the food price increase. PPl above 3 lacs could save and income tax and could use the money to sustain the price raise... but no rebate for ppl under 3 lacs slab is a pity and their living standards would never improve.... real bad decision from FM....

Customers
by Job KK on Mar 12, 2010 03:41 PM  | Hide replies

The main reason or price is customers who are purchasing the items which the shopkeeper saying. Customers are not seeing the price of the commodities and just they are purchasing the same blindly. The Govt. employees are not bothering about price rise because they are getting enough money as their remuneration. But the pvt. employees who are always suffering from price rise and all other financial burdens. Above all essential commodities are largely keeping the retailers in their Godown is also a reason for price rise. The Govt. should take strict action against the retailers who are stocking the essental items for selling in higher prices.

Problem is different - in his thought of economics he only knows how to address the issues of industrialists. He didn't learn how to handle the economic issues of common people, mostly the poors and that's why he is failing to control inflation/price rise.
