Why IIMA needs 130 acres of lqand to just run a PGDM program for 300 students and some executive training programs which are run of mill and ordinary in quality and standard.This institute with IIM Calcutta was set up early in india to promote management education.Land was cheap at that time and public sector was dominating.Low cost wsa the key word subsidised by government.Education was under clucthes of politticns and baus and Institutes were scarce.hence IIMA got early bird advantgae and they very well managed hype and limited seat advantage to create hysteria.When industrialisation started in *0s these institutes got attention as students had no other place to go.MNCs suported the studnets as they came through competition.No9 one goes to IIM for recruitment becaue fo their profs or quality bur for good studenbts they get due to people, falj gover another to get into it. The contribution of these so called premier Institutes is more of generating yankee style rather than solid knowledge,research or Hindi and local versions of managemtnbooks and literature.Even after raiign their fees by 10 times by this corrupt congress regime, these Institutes cry for money as they live and spend lavishly.Just go and see there.Foreign trips, rhetircs, huge pay packets.IIMA director in past has already declared that they are like commission agnets as they charge high fees beacuse pass outs get hefty pay packtes.What a logic.A crude and rude one.Their huge assetes can be used better way.
