Russia is starting very late in IT.Indian IT professionals are maturing very fast, soon the value they'll bring to table will beat the best in the world, with laboour arbitrage as well.

Moreover IT is a resource intensive industry.India produces 600,000 engineers and 1.2 million graduates every year. Russia will run short of people and yes lack of English would be big hurdle. Time of India IT professionals to start applying of Russian visas.

outsourcing and BPO has a big margins in the total profit of Indian IT industry. i dont find much companies who are into developing new things. they are just looking to complete the assignments given by the west giants. so wake up buddy, indian have miles to go in this field. NASSCOM report also suggests that India will face a severe technical lack of knowledge in future. we have to prepare us for tomorrow to face such challenges,

You can open one, but no people to fill them up with.
by Raj Reddy on Jun 22, 2010 12:40 AM  | Hide replies

Medvedev can start one just like Bangalore, but there are people who can fill it up with.

It's not the location or infrastructure stupid, it's the people who make Bangalore the IT hub it is.

There are plenty of Russians doing software development in US and Russia. So there is no dearth of talent there. The only immediate hurdle seems to be less no. of English speaking people.
