management Education

When you should buy managers why not management students too. These students are planted in companies to gather data. Also Campus interviews then seem farce when HR managers take fee to conduct and plant students who paid such fee(= 3 months salary included in their admission fee itself)as probationers and remove them after 3 months as contract with B-SCHOOLS end by then. Who tracked such 'managers" who were removed and B-Schools boast 100% recruitment to their students. Lakhs are spent by Govt to make IIM Grads and are taken away campus my private sector as no condition to serve 3 yrs after graduation in public sector insisted. It's like mother rises the son and another woman robs her away from his mom exclusively for herself deviod of his mom.

Not Only Management
by Naveen Thakral on Jun 21, 2010 06:06 PM

It is not only management education. These private institutes/shops(I think it is appropriate word) have also degraded engineering and pharmacy education. If our country requires more engineers/pharmacists, there must be stringent laws to operate the private institutes. Also the people sitting on the positions to implement the laws must be honest enough.

education has become a business..look at the standards of the students coming out from B schools. above all the fake commitments as to placements lure candidates who deserve to be in a better college. The companies shut their doors for these students and they end up taking a job which they could have got after their graduation. above all, the dependents have to suffer the most. many students take up educational loans to fund their studies and land up in mesh of debt. The worst is once the student is in, he cannot revolt as it would spoil his own career. The point is what kind of education is provided to these students because a college becomes a good one not because of its reputation or placements but by the mettle of their students.

B School syndrome
by Atul Nayak on Jun 21, 2010 05:25 PM

I don't understand why do we make such a fuss of something which is an accepted Industry practice. We Indians are hypocrates, when the same practice is followed world over by other foreign universities who enroll our Indian students on the basis of the so called academic consultants we don't raise any questions. Whereas when Indian B Schools start the practice we are eager to point out fingers and act holier than thou.

Ultimately let us have a long term vision where in only the best Institutes should survive based on theit USP's. How long are we going to insulate the Education Sector and provide guranteed students only to some AICTE approved Institutes. Let AICTE approve more institutes for Engg., and Management Courses and let the students have the choice and let them decide the fate of these Institutes.

Only IIMs,SPJain,XL and Symbiosis matter!
by sandeep kumar on Jun 21, 2010 01:52 PM  | Hide replies

I am an SPjain grad, and I find that other than maybe 10 colleges, the standard of students is dismal, with poor english, poor logic and reasoning skills and no soft skills to speak of. Unfortunately, these 10 colleeges admit maybe 5000. So the remaining 50,000 aspirants need some reward for their mediocrity, and thus the govt gives greenlight to c-grade institutes, thus making a perfect match. Its time, the criteria for CAT changes from 50 pc to about 75 pc, so that only the best quality students even attempt. If India has to go forward, then it has to set rigid standards of excellence. Not rely on students from IIPM or Christ or Amrita colleges of management.

This Sandeep Kumar is of course lost his mind! India needs 500,000 leaders to move ahead and not just 5000 elite students who want to work at a sky high salaries! Management is a practice and anybody can do it! If marks mattered then how come a Dhirubhai Ambani or a Narayana Murthy set up global enterprises! What a ridiculous idea by Mr. Sandeep!

If you are promoting more percentage even for appearing for exam then you are justifying the sucide committed by people who has less percentage in class 12th or graduation....Think beyond percentage in 10th, 12th and graduation.....For course like MBA where person needs to apply knowledge not rattofying the fact & figures....Please change your thinking and other also...that percentage/gud college is for first job but after that knowledge should matter donot jus sideline other potential people who has not passed from top 10 institute....Think

Well Being a stupid out of SPJain was never accounted for & that's the matter with IIM also.

Well SPJain Grad, its really a disgrace to the INDIAN society that we have a stupid like u, to whom institute is great.

Have u ever been in outside INDIA, no one knows about IIM & So called sp jain except who have the strategy called "F*ck the poor" - USA & UK .

"EDUCATION IS THE MANIFESTATION OF PERFECTION OF MEN".

Get the statics & u will find organization run by IIM Grad have always the way to dustbin.Whereas Individual's have shown the way.

So keep ur certificated degree as a locket in ur neck.

Ur talking about college's & various things, i can make u damn sure that u even don't know the preamble of THE CONSTITUTION OF INDIA.

Just get shut.

On 3rd may 2010 there was a SMS circulated by Ministry of HRD, govt of India..The Message is as follows:
Attention MBA Aspirants. Beware of institutes providing autonomous PG diplomas, industry integrated and Distant learning MBA degrees which will lead you nowhere. Trust only regular degree. Institutions claiming high national rankings with glorified media support needs proper verification by interaction with present students in a non-supervised environment.

by ABHIJEET PODDAR on Jun 21, 2010 10:34 AM

This trend has become very common now days..Even I have recived at least 4-5 emails or sms every week from admission consulatant saying that want to pursue MBA form new-aged B-school with blah blah features, then contact us.. we deal with following B-school..admission gurantted..All the b-school given in the list are not well recognised..this is a marketing technique..students must be aware of this thing..This is similar in the line of what has happend to many students in karnataka who want to pursue engeering..they paid money to the agent..to get the admission seat through management quote..in pvt engineering colleges..
