Safety on the net
by syed kalim on Jun 09, 2010 11:38 AM  | Hide replies

Social network sites are now plenty. You need to be really cautious while expressing your opinions on issues which are sensitive. Your IP is not secret and you can be traced in minutes. We find many people being careless on what they write and become abusive to the extent of becoming cruel to a particular section of the community. Actually, it is the equal responsibility of the moderators of such discussion boards or sites to delete such posts like rediffmail does. Internet bashing has now become a fashion. Frustrated people who have no other way to let out steam sit on the net and spit venom on each other. Use the net carefully. Use it to promote social causes.

Syed,

I think it is not easy to find the ip address unless you actually 'click' on something.

Correct me if I am wrong.

No that happens only where the accused is a rich and influential person in society. For middle class and poor people justice is given quickly and they are sent to jail.
