INVEST IN NORTH KARNATAKA
by sumana on Jun 08, 2010 07:39 PM  | Hide replies

Its high time the karnataka govt invests in north karnataka region which is highly underdeveloped. This would not only benefit this region but would also silence those who demand merger with neighbouring state.

he sumana, you are trying to woo neighbour's wife by offering her ornaments? will it happen? development of north karnataka will not persuade people from their demand to merge with their own state.

He Mr.Ghorpade, why is that there is a demand for statehood o vidharbha? No development. So what's the point in demanding areas of other states when u cannot hold onto yur own state? By yur logic then we should demand sholapur, kolhapur, tuljapur, sangli and satara afterall they were part of kannada kingdoms.

As long it is in India why worry. Worry about kashmir taken over by Pakistan and part taken over by China. !! Its absolute foolishness to say Marathis or Kannadigas are snatching away others property. I know thosuands of Marathis in Bangalore living happily. Rajnikanth whose roots are from Maharastra has immense following in bangalore more than Maharastra as a whole. PGR Scindia was a minister. This is just to name a few Marathis. So lets live together!!

Hyundai
Ford
BMW
Renault-Nissan
Ashok Leyland - Volvo JV

also chip manufactures such as
Dell
Samsung
Flextronics
Motorola
Foxconn

Tamil Nadu people will work for Rs 15 per day with no strike or complaints and Tamil Nadu land cost only 100 rupees per acre.

Where else in India these manufactures get people and land so cheap?

Good that these companies are not in my city
by Steve Andrews on Jun 08, 2010 05:16 PM  | Hide replies

I am from a small town in central west India. It is good that we are not having these companies in my city. I have seen almost all cities with investment and so called economic development. It has disturbed peace of the cities, created pollution and unnecessary rush of people into cities. See Bangalore, see pune, crime, pollution and sky rocket prices of everything have disturbed life of common original people of the city. We earn less and spend less and are very much happy with what we have.

Steve Andrews,

you are 100% right. but these intellignet people call this is developement. living in a room of 200 sq. foot no proper sleep, called flat, no playing ground for children, no water, no good neighbours, no gardens in the cities, no lakes, no secure life, fear of theft, burglary, inflation, adulterated food items like milk, competition in evary field and life is really a hell in these so called metros.

How can you support 1 billion people on the life style described by you? This life style has always been for a small minority of people. Most Indians live in poverty.

Karnataka...
by Thinker on Jun 08, 2010 05:06 PM  | Hide replies

The growth Karnataka has seen is past couple of years is worth appreciation. The best part is that not only its capital Bangalore has grown, other cities like Dharwad, Bidadi, Belgaum etc too have grown with more or less the same speed.
I am not from Karnataka but truly applaud the work done by govt there. Clear policies and inclination towards growth is now showing its results which will eventually help the people of the state. Keep it up...
Sadly the same is missing in states like Jharkhand, WB and Bihar. Hope the sun rises there as well.

what kind of development you are talking about, in couple of year load shedding has improved from 2hrs a day to 10 hrs a day in urban areas 10-18hrs in rural areas. this is also to be counted as development.
