If you ask any Indian he will immediately
tell you: India is a hub of INACTION on the
whole planet. Only Mr. Krishna does not know
it in the whole of India, and he is our Foreign
Minister, ha! ha!ha!

India is a global hub for innovation
by Ravinder Malhotra on Jun 06, 2010 11:56 AM  | Hide replies

It would have been more appropriate if it were stated that "India is the global hub for SCAMS"

In the last one decade, the pace of exposure of scams has increased manifold. Mundra, Harshad Mehta, Ketan Desai, Fodder Scam, Sukhna Land, Cariappa Park in Colaba, Koda..... the list is endless.

What is noticable is that the scamsters are getting bolder in the absence of fast justice and exemplary punishments.

The blame for this state of affairs should be laid directly at the doorstep of the civil service cadre( The IAS) that has not stood up to the politician.

Its time to introspect !

India Low On Innovation
by Anumakonda JAGADEESH on Jun 06, 2010 09:44 AM

ndia has slipped further down the innovation index. As the GII Report 2009-10 released by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in association with INSEAD Business School, France, showed on Wednesday, the country dropped 15 places, from 41st to 56th position, on the Global Innovation Index (GII). India, in fact, has been on a decline for the last 2 years, losing 18 places from 23rd position in 2007-08 to 41st last year.

MAY INNOVATION GO TO HELL
by MKeny on Jun 05, 2010 08:51 PM

US needs INDIA to eliminate crime in US using a MINORITY REPORT style operations, SO that US police dont have to do any work and neither its military and it can freeload INDIAn peoples minds with its crap. Most people must have watched the 2002 movie MINORITY REPORT if not please go and watch it on your cable or read it on Wiki. These people want to overburden Indians with their HOMELAND security all for free. People should stop cooperating with government for the UID because it is a step in that direction. HOW ABOUT IN THE EVENT THAT PREVENTING CRIME IN US AND UK, IT GETS TRANSFERRED TO INDIA. ALL IT AND BPO INDUSTRY IS ABOUT PREVENTING CRIME IN US AND UK.

Innovations does happen in India

You can't just talk out of the corner of mouth and fool Americans. They know it, but, you guys will never know it.

I guess most of the commenters here are the ones working in cosy a/c environs of software companies with Net connection. I can bet there thousands of them.Engg degree in some non-descript college, broken english , a coding job after campus placement, and a salary disproportionate to ability, skill and knowledge. In US, these guys are called, whether you like it or not, Software Coolies.

Don't shout at me, you know it, the job you do is the low end job which no guy in developed world would touch it. Your parents were bank clerks and now you are Software Clerks. You may draw salaries more than your dad but that does not give you perspective.

What you software coders don't know and will never know is that, Innovation does happen in India, and happens on a massive scale. Most of these go unreported, mainly cos the companies themselves do not want to risk their innovations compromised by exposing it to copy and piracy.

We do a lot of Innovation in India. So, you commies and RoP guys, belittle India if that gives you pleasure. But the fact remains is that, the world is recognising India's worth!

hulagirl - you are as ignorant and duumb as Sangita. She genralised IT guys. You generalised Keralites.

And your aim in life appears to be a US visa and whiteguys for outings. Not very ambitious - are you?

I have been in IT over in the US and am thinking you have never been in this industry. The only time I have heard of the term software coolies are on "indian message boards" in posts written by people who couldnt make it.

Now I agree an IT job is not research oriented. I have heard the term "code monkey" used by nerds in us research programs in US. But that targets the whole IT industry (not just Indians). I dont have a problem with that because these nerds are really good and would have done work that gives them a little credibility.

But when people like you whose only credit to innovation is "not working in IT" call us names, I dont think it carries any value. Just continue your innovative way of life and let us live our life.
