Govt proposes 20% GST on goods, 16% on services
by S IYENGAR on Jul 21, 2010 10:38 PM

It is a Welcoming feature to have one Tax all over India, but why should there be a difference between SGST and CGST and these names at all. Abolish these also and promulgate one GST namely General SaleS Tax, not Goods & Services Tax.

This is actually rationalization. The effect will be fruitful only when all other odds the so called VAT CST Regional Tax ^ Central Excise and so on.are abolished totally. There should no Trace of them.

Second most thing is the following to be implemented, as I read somewhere and also in these comments columns written by fellowmen that MPs Salary is going to increase 5 times:
Implementation of the following:

The minimum Wages act will be :

Rs.15000 rather than 3000, how hubilant
the common man will be. He will just not
bother about Petrol Prices and through
Cash in Petrol Bunks.

A Clerk getting 5000 will get 25000
Supervisor getting 10000 will get 50000
Officer getting 15000 will draw 75000
and imagine others!!!!

Wah! India is really growing and the buying capacity of Indian Citizen has grown.

Really fantastic!!! Jai Hind... Let me sleep a peaceful sleep.

drama?
by prem k on Jul 21, 2010 10:21 PM  | Hide replies

All this is a drama. Sonia or rahul will soon "intervene" to bring the rates down to 16% and 12% respectively. Then they all will make a happy family face on TV and NDTV, Times Now and CNN-IBN will tell India how Congress president and GS had to literally fight with Mukerjee and MMS to ease off the burden of aam aadmi. Meanwhile Mamta Banerjee and DMK ministers will skip some cabinet meetings and make the world know of their displeasure. SUN TV and Telegraph newspaper will do the job of selling their leaders skills in the concerned states. BJP and Left leaders will call a bandh on a monday or friday to show the people that they also exist.

And people will vote the same government in the next elections. What a sham democracy are we headed to?

Don't breathe more than necessary. If you do so, you'll be levied taxes plus surcharge.
