I doubt the validity of the statement that its retail industry is driven by shoppers from India, China, etc. It might be helping it but it certainly cannot be driving it.

Also "This may be an indication of the growing wealth of the country."

I think it only implies the disparity is getting worse.

Read the headline it clearly says
"Cash-rich Indian shoppers" not "ordinary Indians".

Anyway it's just a rediff news !!

A few thousand indians go and spend lakhs that actually belong to the millions back in india.
Recession doesnt affect the corrupt.
