India ---- Shame
by anuradhakumari on Jul 31, 2010 10:25 AM

What a worse thing -------
We are wasting a lot on Commonwealth games? All knows, how much such events boost the moral of players and how many more will come forward to make Sports their career?
In my view, in this mess, everything other than sports will benefit...........

Why the money is not being invested towards children like Shankar Mondal, as talked about in this story? Why he should not study? Why children facing such hardships should not get fee waiver?
Who, in INDIA, will look into such socio-economic ISSUES...... A better addressisng mechanism for these socio-economic issues will ultimately make us a POWERful SUPERPOWER and Welfare Country......

IT IS VERY PITY, THAT SOME FEW GREAT INDIANS COME IN FOBES Rich LIST but NO PRIVATE COMPANIES ETC. PAY SOME ATTENTION, SOME INVESTMENT Towards addressing these socio-economic probles plaguing INDIA!

Anti-religious minded people

I strongly object the way he had written about Islam.(Venugopal) People like this create riots in the country. The topic was on somethin and he has gone on some other topic. What u know about Islam, u cannot reflect completely when u follow / or have faith other one. Please be specific. Islam teachs not to criticise to other religions, its a sin if u do so. There is complete lierature on having children and it is good if u follow the same. Refer to any 'Aalim' preacher. he will detailed you on the topic, if u have time for it. Mind your words before going to other's shoulder.

Population contol is the only solution
by Ranjith M on Jul 14, 2010 11:14 PM  | Hide replies

No initiative is done to control population in this country by any political party; the only reason is, they are afraid they may loose some vote banks due to this. Politicians in this country is ready to make people starve but will not allow the country to prosper

In Tamilnadu state, use of child labor is policed & employer gets good punishments. And
1st of all,midday meals provided to poor kids;
no school fees for all in govt. schools and the parents are earning through GoI-NREG
program with work for 10 days pm to get around Rs.800/or so; get 20 kg rice at Rs.2/kg,free electricity with free TV for all.
And now, by the Act of compulsory education for all ,I hope the situation may improve for better. If all the states follow it, India may get all children educated at least up to 8th/10th standard/grades.
Let us all pray for it.

Full time employment at 11
by Sheetal Kaur on Jul 14, 2010 10:01 PM  | Hide replies

What a shame,on the government of India the people of India.
Government wastes Trillions on useless projects, most of them are started and never finished yet it can't build more schools and make free education for all.
MP's steal billions from government and public funds of which no one voice their concern.
People waste billions on useless ceremonies which serve no purpose in human life.
Yet we can't give free education to children.
I lived in Kenya one of the African country which is quite poor but even there education is free for all up to Secondary school.
India boast to be rich which it is, but when it comes to education it worst then many poor countries of the world.
We burn million ton of oil and other stuff in the sense that we need to please gods, which cost billions a year but we are not ready to give a child education,
We have Fountains in city squares and using electric or other means to pump water yet we can't administer few drops of medicine in some ones eyes.
Billions are spent in restaurants where half of the food goes waste but we can't think to feed a child with just one meal which will not burst our banks .
We spend billions on gold jewelery and wear it to show how rich we are but we can't even give a secondhand shirt to a poor old man who is walking half naked on the street in extreme cold.
We the public blame government for all misgivings when we clearly know that we are just as bad may be more rotten then the government.
IT IS SHAME ON US ALL.

It is important to highlight these issues, however what is strange is these remarks.Like our politicians everybody, except one has asked for the boy's address to help him.Can we stop beating around the bush and leave it to our politicians? I would also request Rediff for this boy's address so as to help him in any way that I can...
