The kind of 'maintenance' provided for Air India fleet now, there is a huge danger if AI acquire these mega planes. An accident will immediately make a huge dent on the population...:)
Boeing 787 and Airbus A380 have raised the bar and brought new generation technology into commercial air travel. After travelling LHR-SIN several times on the A380 both economy and business, it is without doubt many times refined than the Boeing 747 as well as the current crop of A330 and A340 aircraft. Noise refinement, leg space and fuel economy is much better than previous aircraft. Notwithstanding fuel situation of the future, these superjumbos are here to stay and for good!

In the world, first Air bus 380 of Singapore airlines was started from singapore to Sydney in 2007. which was highlighted that point of time, if I'm not wrong.
Further information, Singapore airlines is most profitable and biggest airline Co. in the world. Not sure, if they operate Air bus 380 to any Indian airport or not..

So far, Indian government has not given permission to any airline to operate the A380 from India. Our babus feel that in such a case, foreign airlines will snatch away major chunk of passengers from Air India.
