This munnabhai style of protest will not cut ice in most places.

most does not mean all. When people care a damn about how you protest, it is as good as going on a hunger strike.
TCS and Infosys were the first to introduce boy shopping in USA by sending highly qualified IIT graduates to remote corners of USA to work for US companies at stipends that is lower than that of the minimum wage i.e. the Indian IIT engineer earns less than the sweeper or peon in US. No wonder TCS or Infosys could never get close anywhere to Bill Gates Microsoft, although they too have been in the It market for as many years. No wonder the total foreign revenue that India earns from these Indian IT companies is less than what India earns as remittance that New York Indian Taxi drivers send. We only focus on IT because we consider it as elite like Brahmins enjoyed high status in Vedic India. I welcome the move by USA. Qualified Indians cannot be treated shabbily by Indian pay masters to work for a song for white clients, just because they pay in dollars and which is lower than the minimum wage paid to US uneducated worker. There needs to be a equal level playing field be it in India or USA. It is this circumventing of US laws by sending contract workers is what ailing both Indians as well as US citizens.

Sirji.. for your information, these people do not abuse H1b as much as small desi comps. These company send people abroad only when they have work for them and pay them while they are here. Come on.. you frustu person. chill out on comps that made India an economic giant

Spoken like a true commie. The irony is you are making these statements sitting in USA I presume.
Re: End of TCS and Infosys Body Shopping Biz

The sad part is that I think TCS, Infosys and other body shoppers qualify with this rule unlike small time body shopping companies. They have the "right to control" because they usually send a team of people to the project site and are supposed to have a project lead/mgr supervsing them. The work assignment is supposed to be done by them instead of the clients. Performance reviews of the H1Bs are conducted by TCS instead of the clients. So TCS qualifies for having "right to control"

you are the most ignorant person that I know of. TCS and Infosys pay there employees in US as well and not US clients. And they do have to pay an decent min. amount decided to H1 b employees and which is quite compatible if not equal or more than the people doing same kind of IT work there. And TCS or Infosys is not a body shopping firm like many other small desi consultancy firms that work from US or small towns of AP. TCS & Infosys hire the employees they send them to US for particular projects, pay them in US(which is 5 to 10 times more than what he would have earned in India.) and call them back when project is finished. And that is why Indians. And for your KI clients do treat this employees very well(better than India boses).
there are 2 aspects to this.. one is the actual rule and the other is the interpretation/timing of enforcement of the rule.. obviously.. the interpretation and enforcement of the rule was not done correctly..
What is the big deal about going to the US anyway? If you do decide to go and are treated like shit, do not crib. You will get respect only in your own country!
We ll lose H1B but same work we will get in India.
India IT market will boom soon and blast like anything. Only thing be ready with resources to open small IT consulting company. Why we ll go there and spend huge on stay and food same we will save here. Now try getting a USA phone number in India and call all companies for project outsource privately. You will earn more that H1B am sure. What is happening is always good. OBAMA can change his country cant change our fate. We Indians are really more talent than americans, so OBAMA is scaring to enter H1B indian guys.

I am agree with you, but we have to thing how we will treat with him. I hope after some days kenia will ban him to enter into there country.
No country is better than your home country however bad it is. UK/US... will give you more money. But IT guys can earn good money in india itself. White people will always consider (in their mind) asians as secondary. They may not show it outside. If you are ok with that, live that life. I am planning to work 2 years in US, earn 50-60L and go back to india. I am ok for the discrimination for 2 years

LOL, i just have to laugh at your dreams mate. This is exactly the kind of attitude the westerners hate about Indians. Just earn quick money and get out of there with no respect to the sentiment of the natives. No wonder, they hate Indians !
Re: Re: not equal
by techno geek on Jan 25, 2010 05:20 PM
Desi maverick, Indians, are under no obligation to live in US for ever. The moment americans see that you like ur native land more than their land, they do not like you. There is nothing wrong in leaving US after short term if you did not break any laws.
Re: Re: not equal
by Shaffaat Jawed on Jan 25, 2010 05:29 PM
they hate individual, not Indians , its not about us or they , its about ur attitude towards the society you live in, be it UK, US or may be same is in India, i guess or atleast i hope !
Re: Re: Re: not equal

I totally agree with you. And I was hinting at the way Indians behave when they go to the west ...

What is wrong in that. I am eligible to work here. I am eligible to save. Everybody save money including these guys. Are u aganist somebody going to US/UK?
Re: Re: not equal

Desi Maverick. If you have finished cleaning shoes of your white masters, please understand this article is not about how bad the indians are :) its about how bad the americans treating the Indians..Moreover please read history before your usage of the term Natives...lol
Re: Re: Re: not equal
by Desi Maverick on Jan 25, 2010 05:16 PM
May be, you might do yourself some good if you look at the first line of this article. Hope that takes your head off in shame.
And if you are pointing about the Natives of the US, then again, you need to read my post since I was referring to the west and US is not the only country in the west. And hence your logic doesn't apply for me here. Read before you jump!!
Re: Re: Re: Re: not equal
by Andy Louis on Jan 25, 2010 05:29 PM
I was just being technically correct.. Your post reeks of the slime that your carry against your fellow bretheren.. You are a coconut in my eyes..Brown from outside and 'White' in the head. The state that you are in is called 'Gulaam' state. In such state you justify every wrong action of your master. You need clarity of thoughts, I donot. This is a question of illegal deportation of Indians who have travelled on Legal VISAs. Its not legal for customs to decide who get paid what. Moreover, working at clients place is normal. Abnormal is..IMO the behaviour of the American Customs. BTW what you are writing is complete disconnect. People travelling on H1B are not going there for charity. Its all about opportunity to earn more. This opportunity has led to the dominance of India in the world. Get your facts correct. Natives is not a word to be used for Westerners..Get it correct. Native is a colonial term. I dont need lessons from you for that..
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: not equal
by Andy Louis on Jan 25, 2010 05:41 PM
Desi Coconut..you read everything again. You don't get to decide how indians should behave. Neither do the customs officers in the US get to decide that.. READ the POSTS correctly to understand..AH..I cannot keep explaning a ba--ffoon like you who does not understand the difference between locals and natives..
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: not equal
by Desi Maverick on Jan 25, 2010 05:35 PM
Well, that makes you an idi0t, if I am a coconut. Clearly shows your Indian attitude of 'get personal if you have nothing to say'. Have you read what I was talking about? I thought the discussion is about the treatment Indians get which is totally and directly proportional to the way they behave. Have you had the common sense to read what I was ssaying in the first place instead of just getting personal? May be, you are busy cleaning the boots of your Tamil Indian manager for the next promotion which made you lose the point.
Re: Re: Re: Re: not equal

Desi Maverick, I hope you understand this: H1 is issues by american govt It is filed by employer It is american employers that fire local people Indian people get their job on their merit, you can blame it on low wages but upto you. So where does the question of sensitivity to natives come from?
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: not equal
by techno geek on Jan 25, 2010 05:43 PM
I never said that Indians are superior. Are you desi maverick or abcd maverick? I said, Indians do not do anything wrong. It is american companies that screw american workers by misusing Indian workers, why should Indians be humiliated? I am happy to be in the same class as Andy. I like him
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: not equal
by Desi Maverick on Jan 25, 2010 05:36 PM
May I kno0w what merit we are talking about? Do yo mean to say that Indians are more meritorious than the Americans? I am sure you dont, else you would fall in the same class as Andy Louis.

so what are u expecting there. Are u thinking that they will place you in top position and dictate terms to them.
It is a fact that people go out to earn money. and it is also a fact that they wont treat well.
If you are ok with that, go and make money. if not, be in india
Re: Re: Re: not equal

I have seen many desis share this kind of mentality....there is nothing wrong with the thinking but what matters is the way it is implemented... I have seen MANY desis ( and Not Everyone though ) paint a bad picture of the country by the way they live in the US...people who refrain from washing clothes to save $1 laundry cost , seen desis getting caught trying to board buses with expired passes and what not.... Saving money and coming back is a good thing but what stinks is the "DONT CARE ATTITUDE"...which comes out of irresposibility ...thats why we see people breaking rules at every instance just to get the extra buck -- frm exceeding max no, of occupancy in apamnts to even cheaper acts like not clearing off balances / debt before leaving country and showing falsified Tax submission docs to get more money from IRS ... and they do this fearlessly because they know one thing...we are here for 1 to 2 yr...just earn money "however you can"....and then never look back...no credit history or bad records to worry about as people know wthat they would never come back... We should be living with "integrity" wherever we are...doesnt matter whether its India , US , UK or anywhere else
Re: Better option

Its too late. These are small annoyances. US IT industry would collapse without India. All the big players are present in India be it IBM, Accenture and the likes. Indian lobby is too strong to be ignored in the US. Above all US is not a petty country like Australia. There is only one way for India from here..Way forward. Jai Hind
Re: Re: Better option
by Desi Maverick on Jan 25, 2010 05:12 PM
I surely think that you are talking about labour stuff and not about creating something. Well, in that case, Indians are the best. when it comes to creativity and Innovation, history speaks about the capabilities of Indians ... err ... isn't it all crap we got in our heads?!
Re: Re: Re: Better option
by Andy Louis on Jan 25, 2010 05:19 PM
Desi M... In Any Industry..If you can understand commercialization..its 90% labour and 10 % innovation..IP rights wise US is the leading country. All other countries just use labour on those IP. Including your beloved Australia.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Better option
by Desi Maverick on Jan 25, 2010 05:38 PM
Exactly my ppoint. Indians are just a lobby of Labourers in the US. How many Indians are here to Innovate something? Well ... atleast nothing in India.
Re: Re: Re: Better option
by subbu on Jan 25, 2010 05:32 PM
again you r wrong. Indians are innovators. These westerers only get the patent on others work. Your same history proves that if u read a little more
Re: Re: Re: Re: Better option

Indians are in the top of the list of innovation in all areas, including the processor that is in your computer.
