Yes, such Genetically engineered products are safe and beneficial to everyone who have engineered them. They are going to get billions of dollars by giving GM products along with a few crore dollars to rascals like sharad pawar

India on sale
by Satyesh Vaniawala on Feb 03, 2010 09:14 AM

This is just the beginning. Gradually, everything which is cultivated in India will be genetically engineered in such a way that India will have to depend on such US companies like Mosanto for cultivation. All this is because that stupid parasite called Sharad Pawar has eaten-up millions of dollars to sell off India, and MAHYCO has become a good dollar-making instrument for Sharad Pawar. Sharad Pawar is the person not able to speak properly, yet his irrelevant talking is going on. Remember, he was even kicked out of hell when he had to visit it during the paralytic attack, and was dropped back on earth.

Brijal are being lost because the soil is so polluted that
by Abhi Bhat on Jan 31, 2010 11:38 AM

Brijal are being lost because the soil is so polluted that plants are not getting the nutrient to create fightback mechanism.
Instead of fixing that root problem they are focussing on relying on devil himself.
Genetic modified crop deteriorates from third generations and then there will be no brignal left at all to eat. But the genetic changes that such crop will trigger in humans will continue on and on for millions of years.

Bt brinjal
by k singh on Jan 20, 2010 10:38 PM

Is there a "SHORTAGE" of brinjal (of our own very tasty organically grown some with the applied inorganic fertilzers to local varieties ) at this moment in India?
Why rush for Bt brinjal?
To me, the MNCs want to control our seeds' suply and strangle our local farmers. MNCs are big "CROOKS" trying every way possible to make money from the 1 billion consumers.
Why EU is emphatically opposing GM foods?

Bt Cotton vs Bt brinjal
by Almighty on Jan 20, 2010 05:55 AM

....which is safer ? Are they ?

Genetically modified cotton , the risk was in transfer of this gene that produces a form of neuro toxin that kils pest...and the possibility of transfer of this gene in nature to food crops was the big cause for alarm.

But genes do not get transfered to other species of plants unless pollen from one species is acceptable to another species of plant....this is not so.

But Bt brinjal is doing precisely what was feared in bt-cotton, ur producing nuero toxin in brinjal to fight pests , and all nuero toxins have negative affect and are cancer causing.....so you can eat brinjal at the cost
of ur and ur families health,.

As for chavan , a typical kongi-politician he has been paid enuf moolah to sing the praises of seller of these nuero toxin.

Beware of GM vegetables
by Jay on Jan 19, 2010 09:43 PM

Avoid GM vegetables! The adverse effects of the use of genes from another species will be established only after many years. First of all, once a gene is injected from a pig or a cow or a fish it can not be considered vegetarian.

There was another article in rediff titled "Cell phones may stave off Alzheimer's disease" which said using mobile phones can actually improve one's memory and help fight against Alzheimer's disease.

OK, go ahead. Daily eat GM food 3 times a day and talk as much as possible in mobile phone!
That should help you to lead a happy and healthy life!!

Blogger asks indignantly, "What has changed in the last few months which warrant this push now?". The answer is simple: money has changed hands!

That was a sham. It was merely to push PSU produced fertilizers and insecticides. We are already reeling from those adverse effects. The hybrid tomatoes going around causes stomach problem if consumed with skin. now this BT brinjal. Milk rich in hormones and adulteration is already causing problems. The no. of thyroid patients per 1000 capita has zoomed. I don't know where we will land up up next.
