No big investor coming forward in Hyderabad
by sameer Patel on Jan 10, 2010 10:47 PM  | Hide replies

with Telangana agitation raging, no big investor is coming forward to invest in these recession-hit, stalled real estate projects. There is not much hope left that these projects will be completed in the near future. There are lot of hardships faced by builders in Hyderabad due to agitation and recession. And no new buyers coming forward to buy properties as there is very less chance of appreciation and more chance of depreciation due to uncertainities.

NRI's are bankrupt
by Godrocksbig on Jan 10, 2010 09:11 PM  | Hide replies

NRI's wanted to ride the real estate boom and multiply their investments many times. They thought a 3 crore Bungalow in 2007 would 10 crores by 2010/2011. However... it is now available for 40 Lacs in Hyderabad. Example.. Maytas Hill county(Nobody will buy even for free), Aditya Homes, Tellapur Gated Communities, Lanco Hills e.t.c... NRI's have made life for common Indian very difficult and they have a superiority complex. They believe they are doing favor by speaking in fake accent. It is better NRI's do not return back to India and stay in their guest houses abroad. Indians however need also to work hard and make their own country honest and hardworking.

Good Say :) Please dont cry on NRI's you should be proud that most of them are investing back in India not in the other countries. Some or the other way Govt and locals are getting money. Without that liquid its hard to stabilize our markets.

We should be proud to be indians bcos we are at least Good Savers. NO people in the world will save, We know our Govt will not pay for us even if we are dying with hunger atleast we are doing our best to protect our families and kids :)

NRIs
by ashok leyland on Jan 09, 2010 07:20 PM

I read a lot of insults made to NRIs by what appear to be merely very very envious people. These are the same who would willingly pay to go abroad and become NRIs themselves!

What we must not forget is that for every one rich NRI there are 1000 hardworking people who are not able to make money because they are prevented by jealous Indians who cheat them or make them work for a pittance or because some petty Indian embassy employee wants to show his power or does not want to do his duty and can get away doing nothing.

So more respect for people who live in circumstances not always the best but still think of India as being home.
There are some people who do not take foreign citizenship even if this means giving up money. These are the unsung heroes. The government doesn't invite them to BPD or give them medals but these are people who are knowledgeable and upkeep the Indian culture in the world. Give them due consideration. They deserve it and more.
So when there are scams concerning NRIs fairness is required to formulate an opinion.

by Ram R on Jan 09, 2010 12:50 PM  | Hide replies

I also booked a 3 bed room flat at Sahara Grace Lucknow. Due date for possesion was november 2008, but so for we did not get possesion. Company do not reply phone call and e-mail messages. Full payment is already made before November 2008.
These robbers were sending registered letter with 18% interest for even 3-4 days delay in installments. Now all are quiet. God only know, how to get justice from such day light robbers. Big name SAHARA GRACE.

use the same letter asking u to pay 18 percent interest and lodge a complaint with conusmer forums of that place demanding possession with interest from date of stated possession till date of actual possession. Make all ur friends also to file such a claim and mark a copy to salman khurshid the minister for necessary action. If nothing happens join together and file a class action suit.

Angry 'Maytas victims' gherao Salman Khursheed
by Ramana m on Jan 09, 2010 10:17 AM  | Hide replies

Hi,

This is really a joke.......Before investing their money did they get any permission from the Board of ministries?
2) why can't they enquiry about the company structure and other details?
3) what is necessary to give maratorium on EMI ?
4) In such case somany cheatings are going on daily did the Minister shall give such a type of promise and repayments by the government?
5) they might be NRI's ,but by observing the investment at mytas hill county we can understand - with in 20 hours of the notification all the flats and houses are sold out through the online only.
hence , I request the people before investing in any type -you should carefully digest the matter yourself and enquiry by all ways and invest .

thank you.

Why this animosity towards NRIs?
by Telveer on Jan 09, 2010 10:04 AM  | Hide replies

I am surprised to see many writers expressing extreme animosity, apathy, jealousy and even blind hatred towards NRIs. What wrong have NRIs done? From a country with a begging bowl a few decades ago, India now boasts large foreign reserves (which are required to purchase oil and so mnay other essential commodities that are required in India to be enjoyed by common man in India). A good portion of this foreign exchange comes from NRIs. Obviously, NRIs can not pay taxes in India for money they earned abroad (which is taxed by thier host country). NRIs do pay taxes (TDS) for any interest and income they make in India. Offlate, this is being automatically deducted from NRI bank accounts and most NRIs dont even bother to file tax claims because most of the TDS can be reclaimed. In the meantime, many people living in India don't pay any tax what-so-ever or cook the books to avoid paying full tax. Meanwhile, many NRIs invest in India, promote Indian culture, bring business to India and contribute significantly to charities in India. Please give NRIs a break. I agree that the Govt. is not responsible for Maytas but that does not mean you use this opportunity to heap your scorn on NRIs

I stay in cochin.. Many of our NRI Indians buy flats paying in $$ insted of Rs in Small city like Cochin. When we enquire for rent.. They say sky high rents which they know cannot be afforded by anyone other than themselves.. .. or prefer to keep it unoccupied for years... This has made life miserable for normal middle class people making a living in City Like Cochin.everything is costly becuase of you NRIs. They make and break bubbles.. Its better they stay without any investment in India/ Each flat costs 10 times more than value.. just becuase of ___. Ofcourse NRI pumping money like fools.. causing a stupid real estate boom.

Yaa, too bad the Bengali's didn't get a change. Oh wait, you open your shops at 11:00 a.m. and practically gifted away a car industry project that generates huge amounts of employment to another state, and rest on the laurels of some guy who lived 50 years ago from your state having won the Nobel prize instead of working hard and having ambition. You don't even have the need for justice because you wouldn't even have the money to take risk in the first place. Lazy duds.
