by Jayakumar Venkatachalam on Feb 17, 2010 06:28 AM  Permalink

it is not clear why we have different scales for Senior Citizen by different authorities , like IT , Railways and Banks , varying from 60 to 65 . i suggest this should be uniformly 60 yrs wherever you go .

Retail as infrstructure
by Ramesh on Feb 06, 2010 09:57 PM  Permalink

We think of infrastructure mostly as roads, electricity, airports, railways, ports, telephone etc...

We need to also consider retail as infrastructure and accord it political priority. Retail chains are key to growth of efficiently flow of products and services. The transformation it effects via vendor development, product inspection and quality, realty development, logistics planning, storage facilities, safety precautions, etc can have the twin impact of improved per person productivity and service quality.

Government should give the Developers BOT projects of Roads & Railway (Metro type) to all big city to atlest 100 to 200 KM including they have to develop townships, Industrial Units and other infrasturer like water, Sewage internal roads etc. and can raise funds from Booking Houses, Shopping Centers and Industrial units & loans from banks and after complection of project they can collect Tolls & Metro charges from the people.

More funds for infrstructure
by subham on Feb 04, 2010 01:16 PM  Permalink

Hon'ble FM,

You can go forward to further reduction in import tax. This reduction in tax should be in lieu of construction of infrastructures like metalled roads, cold storage, industrial sheds et cetera by foreign companies. In this way,you not only integrate the development of MNC sectors as well as domestic industries but also bring new technologies in the construction of rural infrastructure. this option can be implemented in SEZs where foreign production units are exempted from tax for initial 5 years.
