Once should be thankful that the defence budget was not reduced. After all the minorities, not defence, have the first priority on resources. Minority appeasement brings in votes and keeps the UPA in power, defence makes enemies all around.

A budget is a balancing exercise. On the wholw, the finance minister had tried his best to make it less painful. I was disgusted when BJP along with some of the unimaginative opposition parties walked out when excise duty on Petroleum prices were announced. If they were responsible enough they would have never done it. Perhaps they are short of ideas. We have to be ashamed of electing such representatives for our Parliament. They have enough time for discussing and opposing decently while putting forward their views.
There is nothing planned for bringing down prices of essential commodities - all tom tom only - looking to thisbudget King & Tailor lesson needs tobe remembered where a small Girl says that the King walking _____ undressed. Scoundrals are looting our Nation let us be mere spectators otherwise they will eliminate the common man at one stroke which elimination they are doing slowly but definitely. Jai Ho

Its not really the nation in danger, its only that people are turning more and more pessimistic and judgmental..

Instead you should be made minced and fed to the hungry dogs all over India. Whats worth if you have to defend nothing but people about to die of starvation ?

It is no doubt growth oriented but more relief need to be given to general public in terms of exemption limit for I.T. to be raised to at least 3 lakhs from the current 1.6 lakhs. Also long term savings like PPF should be allowed upto Rs.2 lakhs and interest on this instrument need to be raised to 10% tax free.
