Some are saying so many Trains given to south. I am from andhra pradesh. Waltair division belongs to ECorRaiway with HQ in Bubneshwar. Where all teh Trains are getting Extended from Vizag City to Bubaneswar. Vizag City give 3 Hieght Frieght Reveniu in India to Indian Raiway but no New Trains from last two years. N New railway Projects. Good Budget. There is High demand for Trains. But Raiway only Takes Revenues but No Trains and o Devlopment. The City which has Two major Ports and Lots of Industries has Been neglected by tis Raiway.
Most of them do not travel in trains.....It looks more for Bengal because East India has long been neglected.....
Most of the development projects are taken by the West, South and North India. Even Raj Thackeray is happy with Mamata. Women passengers in Chennai are happy....ex-railways minister Nitish Kumar is happy....
and without seeing what they have got, few people are howling, "bengal, bengal"....
Most of the anouncements Railway Minister does comes from proposal given by Parliamentary committee for Railways where people from every state/party exist....
So, dont howl "bengal, bengal"....see your demand is met or not.....If not met, then that demand was not commercially viable.....
Like this demand: "I live in rural AP....Very few people live nearby...I want a Train stop in front of my house....."

*It looks more bengal because East India has long been neglected"... This is the funniest line I have read in the comments... LoL.. Everybody knows the truth. Just wait till the elections in bengal are done... Then you will know the true colors. South and West india deserve more trains as they generate more revenue and profits. Everybody know, in East India, how many people buy tickets and travel.

well - u r leaving in fool's paradise. Just check the statistics of rail network density in West Bengal and compare it with bigger states (area wise) like Maharashtra or AP or Karnataka, you will get the picture. And no one is asking for a railway line in front of their home. No one wants to stop development in Bengal - its a part of our India.. but other areas should not be neglected - and that is the problem everyone else has.

In India maximum population density is in West Bengal for any state.WB much bigger inpopulation than AP,Maharashtra,Karnataka.Just to remind you.

Railway Minister's great acheivement is stop production of TATA NANO in Singur. Now Railway production which is next to impossible all knows how Govt.works.It will put in 5 year plans.Farmers lost their lands didn't get jobs gain is Mamatha got 23 seats.

Mamata got seats because you are unaware of CPM and their tremedous callousness.....No CPM MP has ever done anything for Bengal.....They only gave people hope, "we will bring this, that and those"....
Why Tata would grab land in Singur when its not his?
Re: Re: Railway

Tata never grabbed land, he was offered land by state govt. Land was grabbed by state authorities. After all the fiasco, investors lost confidence in the state govt, they now just avoid WB. No entrepreneur would like to fall into same mire as Tata did. Fortunately, Tata was bold enough to take a tough decision and was capable to cushion the losses. If this happened to small time players, it would have been disastrous. In the current situation it will be difficult even for big players to make justifications if they end up in the same mire.
The arguement that land owners should be compensated adequately is completely acceptable. But the state govt sensed foulplay by opposition and used force to aquire land - which was incorrect. Between the politics of opposition and muscle flexing of the ruling party, it is the state that lost the brand value. It will take quite sometime before someone else will go there to invest.

Why only Bengalis and Biharis are given the railway portfolio. We never had a Marathi Tamil Telegu or Punjabi railway minister from 1947 till date.

i think non-bihari or non-bengali MPs were not fit for Railway Minister at that time of oath, so any PM could not made any Non-Bihari or Non-Bengali Railway Minister.

You shoul know most of the people in these states plus UP travel free of cost. They occupy seats ofthe reserved passenger and no one can say/help you.The rail fares can be reduced if we can check the ticket less travellers.
