All high value items costing more than 10 lakh Rs must beTaxed!
by Tong Tong on May 28, 2011 12:15 PM

Since our country has more than 500 million poor hindus, including sc.st,backward and tribals, all high value items costing more than 10 lakh rupees must be taxed 50 percent of their market values and the money collected as tax must be distributed monthly to all 500 million poor hindus below the poverty line.Shame that BJP,RSS,VHP who shout they care for poor hindus have NOT made such a demand in the media or have not made agitation in streets and praliament with such a demand.Further BJP must join Baba Ramdev movement NOW and make a national revolution to get back trillions of dollars of baclk money of all polticians and businessmen, hasan ali and agents and MUST distribute the money collected to all the 500 million sc,st,backward and ppor and tribal hindus below poverty line and if BJP cannot do it they must say that their leaders too have black money abroad so that hindu voters know their real supporters and not just supporters in words only, Time for a grand manhabharat war has come now, Hope 100 crore hindus will join in and clean hindustn of all demons and emonesses forever.

Stupid Over Engineered Cars Stupid Prices ..
by jaggu on Dec 29, 2010 11:41 PM  | Hide replies

1) No matter how much luxury you add to a car - It cannot make you happy if you & your folks -family/ friends etc are not on talking terms.

2) No one really has the time to sit gaping at the luxurious car except few urchins who steal the logo.

3) Your neighbour will buy a better brand at a lesser price 6 months down the line. Prices are so vague that the Camry in USA costs 10 Lacs vs 24 Lacs in India.

4) Most parking spaces in India are designed for mid sized cars like Ikon etc.

5) If The Car OEM does not have a very high volume business his dealer will rob you on each possible ocassion just to keep alive.

Stay cool.

Indians should buy Indian. This way it will help the local economy rolling, create jobs and much more.
There are god Indian car companies with potential to make solid cars.
Tata has made Safri dicor, Manza, indigo, etc
Mahindra has Scorpio, Bolero etc
These companies should make a descent, good lookin ecomomic cars for Indian Market and makes their prices affordable

Agree 100%. The last month's 500 Nanos will feed 5 Crore worth of Roti to workers of Ahmedabad Factory in long run - but the 500 Mercedes will buy Rs.250 crore worth of beer for Germans. If you want to see how terrible German Engineering is - just ask the Italians and the French neighbours.

Middle class Indian should beware of cars due to fuel crisis
by rama prasad on Dec 29, 2010 11:15 PM  | Hide replies

For any Indian middle class who wants to buy a car by taking loan of at least 6-10 lakhs from a bank has to know some of these facts.
1. Indian Government subsidy for petrol, diesel, CNG cannot sustain for a long time. Once they remove these subsidies, the current price of these fuels easily doubles. In addition, due to underground fuel depletion in a couple of decades, the price will also go up. The petrol price may become at least 150-200 Rs / liter. Can a middle class/upper middle class maintain a car bought by loan with such a high fuel price? What about children's education, monthly groceries, other loans etc etc.. If Indian Middle class do not think of these points by considering future unavoidable facts, exactly like the crisis that happened in US is going to happen in india too. Indian middle class will break in no time resulting in social/financial challenge for the country. India unlike US do not have a social security system to sustain for some time.(Rich, politicians and corrupt babus will not get affected anyway).
I strongly urge Indian middle class think before buying these metal craps that are not built thinking 20-30 years.
Indian middle class should wait for a vehicle that is small and uses alternate fuel technology like solar, hydrogen fuel cell etc etc..

Indian Union Government and state Governments should concentrate more on increasing the mass transportation in Metros and big cities. in this way, people will take the mass transit and reduce the traffic congestion and fuel usage.
Learn from China and Europe with respect to Mass transit.
If India follows USA in this respect it will be a disaster.

Why this fixation on Luxury SUVs?
by Nizam Hyder on Dec 29, 2010 10:42 PM  | Hide replies

Luxury SUVs are hardly suitable for general public in India. India needs fuel-efficient compact cars the most. Concentrate on that.

last month, 500 nano's were booked and the same month 500 plus Mercedes Benz were also booked - so there is equal opportunity in India for every one to loot Indian money

hmm..that's true, but the unfortunate end is we should be happy with the roties for giving space for others to come here to make money and have beer in their country!

So you agree that 500 Mercedes sales are a misfortune for the Indians?
