Who'll rule? China, India or the West
by somnath pawor on Dec 25, 2010 12:49 PM  | Hide replies

A time will come soon,no nation in the world will have a solution for global peace and harmony. All nation will request India to find solution on this problems.India with Vedic philosophy background give the correct solution. It is not question of ruling outer world, but ruling the inner world.Outer world is a simply reflection of inner world. It is just like matter and anti-matter theory.

I do not subscribe to the COMETITION between China & India...because each Nation has to fashion its Growth as per its needs
Its like saying that North Indians R better than South Indians, because they have more Rotis or South better because they've more rice...Each has its own needs & level of what brings satisfaction is different..hence the concept of GLOBAL standards is quite misleading...
Keep Smiling,
Venkat

Propoganda from where??? Do you want to be ruled or want to rule anybody?
I can tell you that in China, there is no a single piece of news like this stupid article, talking about ruling the world(disagree? find one). The concept of multi-polarization was developed by current Chinese government.
You want to rule? then you already fail in the first place before you could do.

Our stupidity is ONLY matched by our arrogance and delusion.

The difference of China and India happened before China's reform
by Raj Gupta on Dec 25, 2010 02:56 AM  | Hide replies

The difference between China and India happened before China's reform, not after the reform as mentioned in many places. In 1978, China had 900 million population and India has 1.2 billion today. China's grain production increased from 130 million tons to more than 300 million tons, an increase of 130% during 1950-1978. India could only produce 220 million tons of grains in 2009 on more arable land. China produced 550 million tons in the same year and increased by 77% over China did in 1978. You can see the difference between China and India and China's performace before the reform.

More than 85% of China's irrigation system was built before the reform when the irrigation rate reached about 70% then. India now is about 40% as I remember. This is the main reason why China can produce much more food than India does.

China's industry size was as tiny as 19.1 billion RMB in 1950, but itjumped to 423.7 billion in 1978, and 15695.8 billion in 2009 (Current currency value). According to these data given by China's Central Statistical Office, China's industry grew 22 times in the the 28 years before the reform, and 37 times in the 31 years after that. China did not have inflation before the reform for a socialism economy and had experienced huge inflation in 1980s-1990s. China's industry growth before the reform was much faster than after the reform.

(Continued) China could built a Dam on the mighty Yangtz river (Gezhouba Dam) and could make an operational nuclear submarine. These projects needed good industrial foundation I doubt India's industry can do these even today.

China 's steel and iron production was between 30-40 million tons in 1978. India reached the point in the 21st century. China built more than 1000 km of nre railways each year between 1950-1978 with total of more than 30000 km of new lines during that peroid. India built total of about 15000 km of new railways in the 63 years after its independence since 1947. This difference is huge.

On the social development, the difference is even bigger. China's literacy rate reached 80% before the reform, way higher than India's 61% today. Chinese's average life expectancy increased from 40 years old in 1955 to more than 65 in 1980. Indian's average life expectancy was less than 64 even in 2005.

China's achievements before the reform was huge. But much of this credits were stolen by reformists.

Before 1978, there were the Cultural Revolution and Great Leap etc, Mao-made humane disasters. It's not right to only focus at numbers. Economy was a pause during 1970s. Universities and colleges closed in the Cultural Revolution for nearly 10 years. And h3ll lot more the outside world might not know about it. It took years to recover from these disasters.

The chaos of the culture revolution did not last long. In 1970, China started to improve relationship with US, the leading country of the capilatism world, to deal with Soviet Union, the leading country of socialism block. The higher education was recovered too. With the improvement of relationship with the western world, China started to import technologies from them. You can see that China started the "opening to the otherside" long before the so-called reform. During the culture revolution, China paid more attention to national security and was doing massive "third frontier" construction that totally Changed China's economical distribution. Those remote and primitive areas gained a chance of industrilization and could be accessed by modern transportation.

The economical numbers mentioned above is less significant comparing achievements in national security.

Here, ruling is figurative. It does not mean imperialism. Even though China is not our friend, there are many admirable things in them that we can learn and emulate.
