A380- Success or Super Flop

Don't know whether to call Airbus' A-380 a success or failure, considering the number of accidents this aircraft has been involved in since November 2009.

Airbus only needs to sell 420 A380s to breakeven. (BBC report). With 150 orders despite rejected orders and the mishaps, in just two years, Airbus will easily breakeven sometime in the middle of the next decade, well before 2020.

There should be no doubt in anyone's mind that Airbus is poised for long term growth.

Yes definitely It is a success. Being the only competetior for boeing in long range, the way airbus has come up nedds to be appreaciated. Many feel that US had made desparate attempts to sabotage the A380 program.

I do agree. US did sabotage the Concorde program. US and Boeing afraid of Concorde a/c produced by France & UK. The US govt did not allow the entry of this in Us airspace for years! Finally Concorde succeeded.

Actually, Concorde failed in the long run may be because of sabotage or may it's ahead of times. But now the Concorde is consigned to the museums.
