Railway failure
by gsst on Dec 05, 2010 03:44 PM

The major reason that these airlines can squeeze and fleece passengers is the indian railways. Of course, I dont care because I dont fly (It makes my carbon foot print look bad :P). Indian railways is the only major railways in the world without high speed trains except stupid US which is stupid with respect to trains at least. Indian attitude that everything that everthing can be compromised, in favor ov the rich businessmen, have brought us to this stage. The railway is not implementing the high speed railway line because of the command from the airline owners, of course car manufacturers, petroleum producers, real estate developers etc. These exploiters want to create scarcity and inefficiency in the market system so that can suck the blood of the consumers. They have created the theory that passenger services are unprofitable and railway should only be used for freight transportation of couse in collaboration with IMF and Wall Street, the ultimate lobby of exploiters. Unless we see the real face of the industry as exposed in the case of Radia tapes we will not have an efficient market that benefit the consumers. I really think Mamata should look at these consideration instead of concentrating on her village.

Indian carriers can provide lower fares but they have formed a cartel to squeeze the passengers.

Get high speed trains like China
by shubasrikrishna on Dec 03, 2010 02:18 PM  | Hide replies

I often travel in China by trains. They cover 500 KM in three hours. You can travel to a place 500 KM away and come back the sameday. The airlines will come to terms then.

Yeh u r right. But in india problem is that Airlines are governed by capitalists & Trains are not at all governed. Whole Railway dept. is left upon God's mercy. On the other hand, in China both departments are taken care by people's party.

hahahahaha..!!!
by nitin kumar on Dec 03, 2010 02:16 PM

yet another jolt to aam aadami's pocket...!!! Why avaition ministry is proposing plan to create new Airports or resurrecting smaller ones??? If prices got reached to Rs40,000/- , as proposed, and they will be(credit goes to KONGIS),rush will come down drastically. Less rush will result less flights which in turn tends to less staff (then only MP's & rich will travel thru flights, no aam aadami) so eventually for whom KONGI's are spending so billions on airport infrastructure ???

greed is the need of hour for airlines
by SANTOSH SINGH on Dec 03, 2010 01:57 PM

this inefficient and useless govt has taken corruption to the highest level and are taking common man for a ride.
it all started with builders who formed a syndicate with the help of this corrupt govt and raised flat rates to an exorbitant level and out of reach of common man. now imagine if this builders reduce the prices also it will be out of reach and will form a stable pricing which again will be much much more.
now airlines which was in red is seeing a marginal growth want to take advantage and hike prices again supported by this govt. soon airlines will form a stable high pricing and will just add more holes to our pocket.
we all indians shd just rise and kick this govt out and out forever ...

Competition Decreases Prices
by iota on Dec 03, 2010 01:13 PM

But Crony Capitalism does not.

If Tatas had successfully started Airlines, who knows it may have helped.

Anyone knows if Bullock Carts are allowed Or Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh has problem with that too?

SYNDICATE pricing by Airline owners like Mallaya, Kalanithi maran
by KARTHIK KARTHIK on Dec 03, 2010 01:08 PM

These rich airline owners might have formed a sydicate to make high fare with same service. This will reduce competition between them and they can EARN MORE AND MORE MONEY from INDIANS.
