Forget china, people should go to dhaka and see the development there, it's rising like mumbai, see Sri lanka, thd tourist infrastructure and general infrastructure there is amazing, inspite of the war there. WE INDIANS HAVE ONLY EXCUSES, SURESH KALMADI FOR EXAMPLE HAS BEEN THERE FOR 25 YEARS, FOR CWG, IMAGINE, HOW MUCH HE MUST HAVE EATEN BY CORRUPTION IN THE LAST 25 YEARS AND MADE CONGRESS PARTY RICHER.

friend have you visited dhaka? It looks like a dead city at the best. There are few high rises there no doubt for example one grameenphone building and few others which impress but Dhaka seems like a dead man's zone. I suggest you visit Chittagong, its much more vibrant city ... I was in dhaka for 4 days last month thats why i am compelled to comment...

China does WHAT AUTOCRATIC india cannot
by E darwin on Aug 29, 2010 10:08 PM

All we hear is media lies about great india democracy and nationalism/thiranga.

Mee khai sangtoo...

Both congress and bjp are nexxus in ghaaplaas

Infact, BJP did nothing on bofors, these were the issues that bought them to power.

BJP also makes deal on EVM rigging as well.

BJP is fake opposition that is financed by same mafia that finances Congress.

ELECTION COMMISSION SHOULD be STATE body. Not federal OR CENTRAL. State based election commission will be monitored by National and international agencies. State election body can decide on candidates and usage of EVMs, ballot, etc.

State can allow EVM to print of current party tally/count from the EVM when voter casts his ballot. That way people can verify any ongoing ghapla. The candiate should have confirm button on EVM screen.

THUS STATE LEVEL election BODY comes under that State Governance and governed by state laws in conjunction with Central and International monitoring.

All the State Election Commission will provide the list of elected MP's and this will be accepted by President or Parliamentary committee.

Similar steps for MLAs.

Mamata should stay OUT OF congress Nexxus and not fall in Congress TRAP.

Congress has habit of riding on smaller parties and then slowly KILL THE SMALLER Party.

Marxist should welcome Mamata as their sole opposition.

Mamata NEEDS TO URGENTLY WORK on election reforms.

China's rise
by Jugal Ahuja on Aug 26, 2010 09:45 AM

china was lucky that mao passed away in 1976, & his successor diao zen ping introduced economic reforms in 1978. whereas here in India reforms took off in the 90's.this 13-15 years advantage for china has been beneficial to stride much ahead of india. however as recession still continues how china will sustain its awesome pace of growth is to be seen.i have been to china in 2008, their infrastructure, manufacturing sector/volume, R&D sector, etc is much ahead od india.

Democracy does not work with Asians
by One Liner on Aug 24, 2010 09:21 AM

We Asians are ruthelessly wealth-and power-centic - we venerate wealth and power even if it is gotten by murdering others.
That being the case democracy wont work.

by om shanti on Aug 23, 2010 11:18 PM  | Hide replies

I will be crazy now !

Shenzhen..a small fishing village ?It was in 1970 !

..Shenzhen is a sub-provincial city in Guangdong province. One of the most developed province in China.Shenzhen's novel and modern cityscape is the result of the vibrant economy made possible by rapid foreign investment since the late 1970s, when it was a small fishing village. Since then, foreign nationals have invested more than US$30 billion for building factories and forming joint ventures. It is now reputedly one of the fastest growing cities in the world.Being southern mainland China's major financial centre, Shenzhen is home to the Shenzhen Stock Exchange as well as the headquarters of numerous high-tech companies. Shenzhen is also the second busiest port in mainland China, ranking only after Shanghai.

GDP OF SHENZHEN:

GDP 2009
- Total CNY 820.123 billion (USD 120.14 billion)
- per capita CNY 92,771 (USD 13,590)
- Growth increase 10.7% ...

China is already a superpower and 3rd largest Economy in the world.China army is capable to destroy any spy satellites in sky. India is a very small fry in front of him.
Most powerful country in the world USA is also under 1 trillion debt of China.
