by rahul sharma on Sep 28, 2010 06:36 PM

plz tell me after vedanta goes out of orissa, whether politicians seating at delhi will come forward for orissa people to lead them to a modern world of extensive medical care, reformed education system and zero underpriviliged children. like the people of delhi, other forward cities and states, time has come for orissa's people to come out of darkness and enjoy what all other states enjoying. and that can come via industrialization only.GOD ATLEAST FEW INDUSTRIES DARE TO PUT IN SUCH LARGE PROJECTS IN THIS PART OF INDIA

Sterlite mining project in Niyamgiri is illegal
by ashok sharma on Aug 27, 2010 03:03 PM  | Hide replies

I storngly objecting the way Mr. RAJEEV GANDHI & Mr. JAIRAM NARESH are reacting, it simply a politices against a co-oprate house like VADENTA GROUP.
VEDENTA BOARD has already taken permission from Gov. of india than only they have started the project. now when company is doing well then leg pulling has started by greedy people.
it is realy shame that some peoply of india do not want the development of the country. when a company does well than area development also takes plase not only that people of that area gets maximum benifet with that directly or in derictly
so, I request to the people those are against Vadenta please correct themselve, & let company should allow to do its business for good future of the country.

they have crossed the line every where
by ajay pradhan on Aug 17, 2010 04:16 PM  | Hide replies

they have crossed the line every where they have set up a plant. they have violated every laws. they have made joke of the indian system.

actualy only vedanta is not responsible for this. the politicians who have sold out their soul are also part of it. we people who have chosen them are responsible. but we chose them to represent us at the national level. we chose them to represent our problems at that level. but they sell their soul for money.

people should protest in the interest of their development, which the niyamgiri people have done successfully. in other plants like jharsuguda, balco they have crossed the limit. on 21st december mr. navin pattnaik chief minister of orissa is coming to visit jharsuguda plant. its a celebration for the vedanta people and a black day for the local people.
i belong to jharsuguda and i know the employment rules for the local people. they have destroyed the environment and everything.

You are right Pradhan Babu!
Our democracy is a big joke. When people who cannot realise the value of their votes are given the right to cast votes, the wrong people end up winning the elections. And the result is scams like one being done in Jharsuguda. A day is not far off when the great Mahanadi, and other rivers flowing into Bay of Benhgal get heavily polluted and make the life a hell for the corrupt politicians and bureaucrats living in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

Vedanta & Cairn deal dangerous for India
by Ravi Kant on Aug 17, 2010 02:00 PM

Heavy oil in Barmer region will not last long & has a very short life. Cairn hasn't spent/invested that kind of money to sell the project to Vedanta. If Govt, must give approval to this dubious deal, ensure that Vedana pays out of foreign funds & not a rupee from Indian operations. Hawala angle must be taken care of too. Simple to understand; if the Cairn's project was so attractive why should they sell their stake to any one? Is Cairn going to help BP out of trouble with such funds? ONGC as a 30% partner in the field must object to Cairn selling its stake to Vedanta.

Violators of Law of Land
by R P on Aug 17, 2010 01:45 PM  | Hide replies

Vedanta Resources Plc invoved in many such unethical business recently. Why Govt. of India not taking any action against this organization. They are doing illegal mining in many parts of the country and violating environmetal regulations by not following the emission levels, spoiling the livelihood of millions of tribes. In their Sterlite Plant at Tuticorin they had number of accidents and all covered up (they even bribed the Chief Inspector of Factories of Tamil Nadu). Now the new scam of Tax manipulation erupted. What an unethical business group Vedanta Resources is!

Closer of Vedanta mines in Orrisa.
by kailashchandra bohra on Aug 17, 2010 01:42 PM

He should be rewarded the highest prize for, stopping the mining there by slashing the Steel and Alluminium production. Getting close the coal mines, to stop power production, Stopped construction of Dam in Uttrakhand- resulting in to lesser production of food grain. All in all, all the projects will be given the green signal, since a moving vehicle can not be stopped; but it will be too late. Price escation will eat up the project itself and it may become non viable. The money so far invested is of Tax Payer, atleast in Uttrakhand, who is accountale. Is it the phase of Governance, where no body is accountable. It it the liberalisation.
