looting by TV media
by manoj agarwal on Aug 14, 2010 11:18 AM  | Hide replies

do anyone concerned about the ads appearing on TVs today? they show some celebrity faces to recognise them, and one particular number is telecasted on screen, which costs Rs.12/- per minute. what happenes in normal houses? my 5 year old son watched this ad and called up that number, and forgot it, call was hold up by them for nearly two hours, after i got to know about this, i disconnected the line, till the it was put on hold. which costed me Rs.1095/- (inc. of service tax etc.). when i refused to pay to service provider, it thretened me to put behind bars if not paid. now, i want to know opinion about this from all my friends that is there any thing can be done for this kind of frauds going on TVs even by reputed brands like Zee tv. are we fools? the case is, they pay hefty salaries to their staff, who are well educated from reputed institutions. so who will pay those high salaries to the? it is common man, who are getting cheated everyday, everywhere. no one is there in india to see the problems of common man. i wonder, if all these big educational institutes in india are teaching " how to make money by making fool out of a common man" and reward degrees to their students, who eventually starts making new ideas to loot people. how to stop this all nonseses. untill this kind of things can not be stopped, indian common man man will be getting more poorer only. sometimes i think, are we able to respect our country in these circumstances?

By your careless nature, if your son drops your expensive mobile and breaks it do you expect the mobile manufacturer to pay for it ?

Jus for advertisements & we consumers pay for it!!!!!

People, just understand from this article, how much these corporates and channels just for revenue gnerated and spent thru advertisements pay for this stupid movies. It is untimately the people who buy products added with all these advertisement costs added to the final cost of the product. Ppl's forums and association should raise voice against these unwanted advertisement costs which is turned on over the customer. For example just a Rs 15 Lux soap paid teh ash-bachan couple something like 8 crores or more for their few mins act, added to this the cost Lux paid all the channels to telecast will run for more crores. Imagine how many 15Rs (or) 10% to 20% of cost ~ 3Rs more would have been added to the cost to compensate the advt cost in ur soap. All these are done and simpley the govt and corporates cry Inflation is costing them and so on. Almost even a commonly and simple formula toilet cleaners are spending huge money on advt and turning it on customers. So ppl , just remeber to voice ur concern and I hope some ppl after reading this come to light of the facts. I have lived in US before where many products are affordable for the common man, their they do not advertise like this hugely. Only the hard (or hugely competitive) to sell products like car or not so necessity beauty products and life saving medicines post their ads but they too spend only for paying channels and not so expensive on making it. sp ppl be aware of this advertising thing.

You are absolutely right. This is the main cause of rise in product cost which is ultimately passed on to the consumers and we have high inflation rates!!!! And still we talk abt aam aadmi ?? his miseries ?? incompetent govt and what not ! Jaago logon jaago!!

Sachin Tendulkar endorsed Fiat S10, A very good car but S10 was Yellow with Sachin's signature and cost a Lac more than same model not endorsed.
Finally Fiat had to sell these at 2 lac less than the quoted price. Good products speak for themselves, they do not need endorsements. I try not to buy products promoted by the hyped personalities who take the extra money I pay for their faces.
