This is really a stupid article from rediff. I lived in London, Newyork for a long time. comparing those 2 every 1 feels london is the costliest cities comparetively newyork downtown also slightly high but compare to newyork mumbai is toooo high, we can say like mumbai is crossing london in term of costliest. The cities and county mentioned by rediff most of them are unknown. same kind of article posted yday. i dont know what rediff plan is. who is the incharge of publishing those kind of wrong informations? also in future rediff have to give the profe of the article or any survey taken by some top agencies.

i think in India may be property wise Mumbai/ Delhi chart on the top but cost of living in Bangalore is the highest as everything is brought in from other states and taxes on anything and everything for eg take entertainment, hospitality etc is the highest.....
A city is Chad which is and has been the poorest country in the world is stated to be the 3rd costliest city in the world. That is quite a revelation. But, i strongly believe the city may be costliest for its inhabitants and not for the people from other countries because the currency exchange rate of Chad should be very cheap compared to the other countries.
This is another crazy article from rediff. Looks like there is a healthy contest going on among writers in rediff who can do worst than the others. The comparison and the data published is crazy n freak. How can we reach to a conclusion that N'Djamena (I bet no one is aware of this place) is costlier than NY and Vegas. If the parameter is american currency. does this mean that you can live on less cost when you are in NY then when you are in N'Djamena?
The article says - if US dollar weakens against the local currency of a city... Can any one tell me what are the local currency of Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata etc ?

No Mumbai is coming within the first 10 Rank for real estate price but NOT in the case of living cost.
Costly is a relative term! Those who have lot of money London or Bangkok is all the same. As for us, when we convert Indian Rupee to other currencies, we find it very expensive. For an Indian to live in Delhi or Mumbai is equally expensive but may not be the case for a foreigner who comes to Delhi or Mumbai.
