india meet mdg target
by Manohar Mungekar on Jan 13, 2011 03:52 PM

On Sanitation-2.6 billion people or 39 percent of worlds population live without access to improved sanitation. The vast majority live in asia&sub-saharan africa.Even if target is met some 1.7 billion people will still not have access to improved sanitation facilities. What about this? Open defecation-A global decline in open defecation is recorded but still 1.1 million people in countries like India,Indonesia,China,Pakistan,Sudan,Nepaletc are home to 81percent of them. What about this? so even if safe drinking water access is met in india what can be done about sanitation&open defecation.Due to this activities childrens suffer from most of diseases and deaths. Can these findings be submitted to respected Ministry& PM.Thanks.

hi all,
What do you mean by india is 3rd class etc etc. .If you dont like india then please leave our country. Agreed that still today water is a crises for major part of our country but that does not give you a right to speak careless. If there is some wrong in your family do you make it public ? ? ?. Then why this. You have right to oppose and ask government but not like this.

Joshi Sir, you are Jocking !

Go into the past history of ministries of water, electricity,PDS,education, health, all say by so n so year every house will have water, rations, electricity etc and nothing ever happens.Mr Joshi is giving 100% wrong figs as far as drinking water in rural areas is concerned. And his fore cast of 2012 is another big lie.Let him frankly state as to how many rural area he has himself visited and checked about drinking water. The actual fact is more than 80% of Indian villages do not have proper drin king water facilties.Joshi is folling and eyewashing UN in this matter.Lots of funds must have been provided by Govt of India as well as UN for rural drinking water project and more then 60% as the trend is must have been pocketed by the minister, his assistants, and govt servants.Guys at UN pls take note of this, have a random survey at Bihar,Rajastan, Andhra,Karnataka and ofcourse UP and you will see what you have never dreamt of, some horrible scenes like women walking 6 to 8kms to fetch drinking water in the scorching heat. Mr Joshi's figs of 84% rural population getting drinking water may be 8.4% and not more.Un, World Bank should be very carefull while funding any Indian govt schemes,60% of the alloted funds are illegally pocketed by the politicians and the govt servants and hardly any funds reach the poor masses.Govt at the centre may be of any political party, the standered % of the loot is 60% involving the policians and the govt servants.Be Ware !

fuding figures is the common game played by the governments irrespective of parties. most money probably goes from wolrd bank to swiss bank, and the country pays tax for the same.

Such a negative approach to problems will hardly help in resolving them. Change things around you that are under your influence. Vote!! Press at least the "No Vote" to indicate that you do not feel any politician is worth managing your tax money.

Guys from UN , World Bank, Bill Gates Charity, International NGOs, Pls read the above and be alert and vigilant while funding any Govt of Indias schemes for the development of the poor masses.Keep your sincere and trusted volunteers to monitor the provided funds and proper usage of the funds.Indian politicians and the govt servants are the most corrupt lot and rank among first 10 in corruption in the world.

Mr Sayed is 100% right in his assessment. In this country the poor becomes poor by all counts and rich becomes richer by pocketing what is meant for the poor. The poor only is guinea pig!

you may tell poor is becomming poor and rich becomes rich. But it is a baseless statement that rich are pocketing poor. Are poor paying tax for road and electricity or anythung. Are they giving a sigle ruppe to a rich man. What do you want the rich to do? Do you wnat them to stop industril production? Or do you want another dirty creature, pol pot to kill 1 crore people.Even in China there are 90 billionairs. Hard working poor surly develop or at least have a decent life. I alos thing I am more intelectual than Ambany's. Do you believe me if I say so. Prove your capability if you are really worth. How many centuries you people weap on rich? why don't you work hard and develop yourself? You weep for another 1000 years. Rich remain rich, because they work hard and earn and not by robbing oters.

Water woes
by Harjindarpal Singh on Apr 17, 2010 12:24 PM

Since Independence if towns are not getting quality and quantity drinking water how can our rural brethren get , it is a white lie.
Our respectable P.M. should enforce Rainwater Harvesting as a must for all buildings and townships , starting of first with the government owned buildings like schools, colleges, hospitals ,courts and other offices. I hope thiss message reaches the PMO and something worthwile is done in this regard to marginaalise the drinking water problem to some extent."SAVE WATER SAVE LIFE"
