@deshipondi u must be shameful in openly insulting our constitution. mumbai was never part of marathi manus but they themselves are outsider in mumbai. Pune was part of maharastra but not mumabi.Mumbai was given in dowry to people of India. Go ansd read history.

Really Mr. Atul? Can you enlighten us as to who gave Mumbai as a dowry to India? Does the Indian constitution say that leaders of a particular region are free to neglect development in their states, causing residents to migrate elsewhere in huge numbers? If so, please point us to the relevant article.
Let me tell you a bit of history. Mumbai is named after Mumbadevi, who was the deity of the local residents of Mumbai prior to the arrical of any outsiders. Mumbai was indeed given in dowry - but by the Portuguese to the British. 105 Marathi people have paid with their lives for unified Maharashtra with Mumbai.
While everyone can go and work wherever they please, if people from one state overwhelm the resources of the state where they migrate, and threaten its native culture through sheer numbers, a backlash is only to be expected.
dear co readers, please check hira in thane and other projects to whome government had given land @0.50 paise per square feet to build homes for poor know no poor is seen in this vast landsssss
The idea of building 5,00,000 (1.5 million in near future) affordable houses (I better called them modern slums) of 160 sq ft to 600 sq ft in area like Vasai, Virar and Nallasopara is a dangerous move. This will only adds to basic problem of infrastructure, water and other civic amenities. This will also result in large scale influx in people for other parts of India in particular the northern states like Bihar and UP coming and settling here resulting in political instability, social and economic problems. The consequences of which could be disastrous for national integrity. Instead I feel the centre and state governments should give more emphasis on developing the villages and remote areas of India and discourage the people from coming and settling in big cities like Mumbai, Chenai, Bengaluru, Dehli. Agree totally with you. We need to upgrade the second tier cities.
Since i am from Bangalore, I know that Mysore can be developed into a great Tier II city. In addition a few satellite towns can be added by careful planning.
i dont see why people should be paying 1 to 3 crores per flat to stay near the "center of the city" as we do in these places. if each of these Tier II cities and satellite towns had good hospitals, infrastructure and water, we would not need to build such "modern slums" and kill what is already there.
