The multi-billion business conglomerate is spending some capital for environmental protection. The profit they made from pharmaceutical business is used to succumb the nations around the world. It is better they concentrate on the treatment of diseases at reasonable cost.

First lesson for a medical student ‘all drugs are poison’. “Yesterday’s drug is today’s poison. Yesterday’s poison is today’s drug. Today’s drug is tomorrow’s poison. Today’s poison is tomorrow’s drug.” Unbelievable philosophy but is true in practice in medical field. World’s drug sale is of the order of $5000 Billion. In India we produce more than 50000 drugs. We prescribe twelve drugs which are banned by WHO. The Central Drug Controller Dr. Venkiteswarulu is all out to stop manufacturing of 1700 dangerous formulations. But there are powerful lobbies to thwart his moves. His effort will cut the sale by 3000 crores worth of drugs. How can the pharmaceutical companies permit his move?

The government should have a department to preach the philosophy ‘the body is created by itself, grow by itself and die by itself has the ability to correct by itself’. The life is created and sustained with air, water and food. The body feels sick when there is a lacking in any one of them. If this dictum is spread the layout on health will come down. There will be powerful lobbies working against such a move such as the five star branded hospitals and pharmaceutical companies. These two welcome diseases and not health.

Let Johnson and Johnson take initiative to distribute sufficient quantity of creams for the primary diseases.
The pharmaceutical companies and hospitals/quakes are fleecing the poor. Look at the way the disease 'dhobi itch' (Tinea Cruris) is treated. It is not a serious disease. But the essential creams for the treatment is not available in the market in sufficient quantity. Essential formulation is 3-5 percent Salicylic acid and other ingredients in cream base. This is seldom available in the market. The patients are forced to use other costly creams and tablets to cure this. Formulations with steroid also is used. By long use the fungus become sterile. This take patients to go for costly treatments.
There must be a movement by NGOs to popularise the prevention/treatment of the dhobi itch. Dr.Paul Kohle and others may come forward to help the poor in this connection. A treatment in the initial stage with just 100-200 rupees may go up to several thousands if it is not treated in time.
If this skin disease is not treated in time it may lead to other complicated and serious illness in course of time. This include psychic, high BP etcThe mental stress due to the itching etc may lead the person to alcoholism inviting serious ailments and expensive treatments.

Pharma industry find a cure for reddy brothers
by teachmmobile on Oct 29, 2009 11:30 AM

Wonder why opposition JD-S, Cong-I or the press are not highlighting the excesses of Reddy brothers:

1. Beating up innocents in ministerial quarters
2. Hafta collection from mining lorries in Bellary
3. Unlicensed mining and changing borders
4. Sitting in Kadappa for a month to install Jagmohan Reddy as CM, when they belong to BJP
5. Throw tantrums like Britney when ever they are upset.
