gogoi is intelligent but naive. One day an american company will remake all these things and you (mr Chawla) will be paying taxes for using those things. Welcome to the world of IPR. Vicky u r too naive to understand all that. I hope you might not have heard but India is still fighting a case in international forum for its age old tradition of using 'Tulsi' leaves as medicinal herb and the list doesn't stop here. If you really hate money then at least open a company and register that product under that name. Doing nothing is most foolish thing that can ever happen.

I agree with you concerns Abhi. Money is the most practical way to propagate your ideas or work for betterment of larger section of society. Only thing we have to remember that money is a means and not the end.
What Madhu Koda has to give the society even after amassing over Rs.2000 crore?
I request K.Gogoi to talk to the world in the language it understand without compromising your values.
Wish you all the best!

What should the govt do?
by JM on Nov 24, 2009 12:52 AM  | Hide replies

...fall at his feet?
The expectation of Indian govt from people is to be a parent.

This !d10t doesnt even want to file IPRs.
Being a successful innovator involves some business brain as well and if he lacks that then nobody, especially the govt, cannot do anything.

When has the American or any European govt. held the hand of their citizen innovators?

My point again- what does he expect the the govt to do?

Well a quick one will be to actually disburse the land he was allotted but file buried in local Govt. offices and give him a well equipped lab to carry out his experiments.

Mr Gogoi..I salute your inventions and my sincere advice to you is to accept one of those initations and move abroad to MIT. We Indians from time immemorial are known not recognising talent in time. Look at Amartya Sen, Hargobind Kohrana ..no one would have known them if they would have stayed in India. PLEASE ESCAPE IN TIME .....

There are many failures before a technology is productized, in all countries.

Innovation in scientific field is not like the hair-cutting salon or the pig-meat farm that you run.

we fail to recognise and reward our own talent.. that is why many go abroad and become successful and that country reaps the benefit.. because they know the worth of true potential..
india is a curse for people like gogoi. who selflessly devotes his time and energy for science but cannot be rewarded

The whole world knows the fact that behind every successful engineering product there is an indian brain..... unfortunately, the indian govt and companies are not interested in investing in research activities.......

I dont know whether the big IT firms like infosys, wipro are investing in research ..or they are still dependent on the money from maintaining the software of some US .European companies..

Service to MANKIND through original work
by Chander Bhushan on Nov 23, 2009 05:52 PM  | Hide replies

Mr. Gogoi
Three cheers to you for your inventions. I salute you on the innovations created by you. I admire your devotion to the country, but the practical aspect is that if our country does not support your INVENTIONS and so on there is no harm accepting invitation from other countries. It is in line with what we have in our HOLY BOOKS "Vasudhaiv Kutumbkam".
What you have done or is in pipe line is all for the MANKIND. Please do not deprive the world the benefits that it is due to get from your work. The KNOWLEDGE is not to remain confined in a small area of the world. Please spread it so that the MANKIND gets the benefits thereof and save the EARTH from WARMING. I can't write more. please take the meaning (hint) from my message and weigh. Please act accordingly. Thanks
With regards,

CHANDER BHUSHAN

totally agree with Chander. I will go further extent of saying that its "okay" to commerciaize your innovations. You can use that money to support yourself and possibly support other innovators like you who can create great things for the mankind.
