It is the Govt's baby. They spoilt it.

Air India was one of the best airline under TATAs. Its the Govt interference and control that brought it to what it is today. Easy for Mr Patel and his team of officails to blame the company. And sadly, rather than blame the top bosses and policies, they blame employees. Is the ministry not responsible. They appoint CMDs. They formulate policies and meddle in every decision. The management is decided by them. Why no accountability of all these babus and their actions. The ill-planned and devious merger brought the company to the present crisis. The decisions of today aim to close the shop in 2-3 years. And time will confirm this. When you are in losses despite the manpower and resources, what you do is to aggressive sell your seats and protect your routes. Sadly the latest news hints at routes being closed and aircraft being given up. Catch-22. With more infrastructure and manpower and less routes/flights, in 2-3 years it will lead to closure of the airline. Its like cutting your head off because it aches. Its a shame that this is all that our great intelligent netas and babus could come up with. And lastly, lets stop blaming the employees and their perks. This have not been stolen but approved by the same airline and concurred by the ministry.

Irrational

This is just to make way for STIMULUS PACKAGE for other ailing airlines. When a PSU make loss the board of directors should be made answerable. Stimulus package is not the solution. Let them make changes in their operational matrices and make it profit making. That is management. Going for stimulus package after making loss is irrational. What is the logic in preaching free market economics and giving out stimulus packages? All these are part of the bigger game of bringing the colopowers back to India.
