Better approach
by Pradeep K on May 23, 2009 01:41 PM

It is better to put some value than no value. Atleast it will be known.

BTW, the government follows single entry system of accounting. Hence the assets are not recorded. Recording of assets is compulsory even under cash basis of accounting. Think Rediff should have done some research into the systems of accounting.

No sir, it is necessary. Or else, there will be a secretariat to decide the computation. The symbolic valuation is taken as 'constant' which will be never 99 pise. Even millions rupees may be spent to correct the loss of 1 paise.

a futile exercise
by Pheni Bajwa on May 23, 2009 01:13 PM  | Hide replies

a absolute futile exercise. perhaps, in future if they see profit, the outgoing govt might even demand dividends out of it!!
Instead I advise the govt to concentrate on solor energy havesting capability, connecting the rivers to avoid dought and floods in different part in the same time, give better quality of life to each and every one, stop illegal immigration, check pakistani infiltration, and improve intelligence collecting, and most of all, take a census of indians and create a social securty system.
